Lulamoon teaser · 10:55am Oct 19th, 2015

I know I said in my last blog that I was going to work on the "Trixie Wrestler" story this week, and I intend to. But I kinda had this scene in mind, and really wanted to write it up.

Ever since the Manehatten Mysteries arc of the comics, I thought it would be fun to do a series where Trixie "helps" the Manehatten Police to catch criminals; kind of like an MLP-version of Castle. I don't have any particular plans for it at the moment, but this scene really struck me and I wanted to write it up... so i figured I'd post it here.

Let me know if you guy's enjoy it, and I'll try moving Lulamoon up my table of projects.

Her ears pricked up as the door slammed shut. "Ah, detective Shield," she said, rising from her cot. "Trixie wondered when you would come to her for help."

Her voice was smug, as if she were on the other side of the bars.

Riot Shield sighed. " 'Beatrice Lulamoon, the Manehatten Police Department thanks you for your co-operation in the apprehension of the notorious thief Rough Diamond. You have done a great service to your city, your princess and your realm, and we are officially discharging you from any obligations or services to us'." He stopped, his breath sharp in his chest.

"How many times do I have to tell you that, Trixie?" he demanded, unable to keep the frustration out of his tone. "How many different ways are there to tell it?"

The mare in the jail cell blinked. "Trixie can be of significant help to the Manehatten Police," she began. Riot held up a hoof.

"We don't want your help. By Harmony..." He ran a hoof over his face. "You are not a police officer, Trixie. You're a magician. You are not welcome at crime scenes. Your interference just makes it harder for us to catch the real criminals." He began to pace along the outside of the block. "For Celestia's sake, what if you dragged outside contaminants to the scene? Moved something, destroyed evidence?"

He approached the bars and stared at her.

"What you are doing is against the law, Trixie," he said quietly. "I could keep you locked up in here for months."

She said nothing; she didn't speak, she didn't even move. Even as angry as he was, Riot Shield had to admit a begrudging respect to the mare for not backing down.

He let the moment stretched, then lowered his head to his belt. He grabbed the keys with his teeth, fumbled with them in the lock until the door slid open with a deep, ringing clang.

"We're cutting you loose," Riot said, replacing the key's on his belt. "This time. If you try this again, I will have you arrested for obstruction of justice."

Trixie scoffed, trotting past him, her cape flaring behind her. She turned, raising a cocky eyebrow. "You said that last time, Detective Shield."

The earth pony sighed. "Well, this time, I mean it."

He heard a laugh behind him. "You said that last time too," Trixie said, her words cut off by the door swinging shut behind her.

Really cool fragment!

I think that I am way too contaminated by Bad Horse's "The Magician and the Detective" to see Trixie helping the police. Then again, I could see something like this, except that she always stands to gain something from those particular criminals being caught.
