Would apologies be a good place to start? It covers well-worn ground, but hey, let's go with that.
So, yeah. Apologies for being AWOL for some time (and, if we're being particularly strict, for being rather absent-minded even before that). A combination of a couple of factors, the main one of which being too many hours piling on at work.
They dressed it up better, but this is a pretty accurate depiction of my bosses asking me to do more hours at late notice.
That particular problem hasn't really resolved itself. I'm still pulling 50-hour weeks, so this isn't a grand return or anything; my attendance shall be spotty at best, and most certainly not up to the exacting standards expected of Twilight Sparkle.
Besides that.. well, full confession: I was getting a little burned out on pony. I still enjoyed the show, but I wasn't as hyped for it as I was around season four and five. That, combined with the fact that I barely had any time to watch season six made me consider just retiring from MLP as a fandom.
Clearly, that is not the case. But why?
Well, for one thing, the UK aired the remainder of season six early. I still need to watch the episodes, but I have seen the finale, so I know have the power to gloat. And, honestly, that's a pretty great.
"You wouldn't understand what that feels like. You haven't seen the finale."
Snark aside, and discoutning spoilers, the final did help remind me why I enjoy this fandom so much to begin with. There are so many great characters, and great stories, and great ideas waiting t be explored... and I have a lot of stories I do really want to get around to writing one of these days.And finishing one of these days.
(I swear, I keep meaning to finish Fleet...)
And, besides that? I enjoy the fandom. So...
As I say, this isn't a grand celebratory 'Back in Business' type thing. More just a quiet announcement that I might be a little more active in the future... but with an emphasis on the 'little'. As I say, I will still be working stupid hours, and I do have other stuff going on, so I might not be as active as I once was...
But I'm still here, which, hopefully, counts for something? I think it counts for something. I wonder if there's a cutie mark for "participating"...
