    Update: Legend, Year 2

After an extended hiatus due to a combination of classes, reading Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons (which is amazing, I would greatly recommend it to anybody into Fallout and/or ponies), and playing the Taken King (also amazing), I've returned to this site. I still need to catch up on an entire season of MLP, but hey, progress is progress, eh?

A Guardian, a pony, and an update

Hello. Unknown here. For anyone that is interested or cares enough to read onwards, the sixth chapter for Legend is in production, with an estimated 4,000 words in and counting. I was originally going to tie in this chapter with the seventh for one huge chapter to release, but for speed's sake I decided to focus on polishing the first and releasing the second later.

To which this blog post is concerned, my Destiny crossover story, Legend, is not dead, contrary to the story's longtime lack of updates. Far from it.

As many of you know, Destiny's story (:trollestia:) revolves around a world that is constantly changing and updated by new content. Legend was submitted some time before the first DLC, The Dark Below, and therefore lacked anything new that was introduced. However, I found that, as many writers on this site have experienced also, it was exceedingly difficult to update regularly as planned. I couldn't keep the story up to speed with the new content Bungie releases.

Legend's protagonist, Exodus, is a relic of Year One of Destiny. You may consider his completion of the Black Garden and the Vault of Glass trivial, when there stands Crota, Skolas, and most recently, Oryx. Much of the hiatus was spent by me trying to figure out what to do with the story with all of these DLCs to cover, among other things.

It took me much thought and mulling over the plotline, and I decided that I will be overhauling the plotline (of future chapters) to better accommodate the current Destiny. I will be revising phrases that sound a bit forced and adding a few descriptive words here and there, yes, and you might even see a few abstract The Dark Below, House of Wolves, and Taken King concepts interspersed between events. I'll still try to keep it canon to Destiny's lore, though.

I will also be changing up a little bit of the second chapter. Some of you have pointed out the fact about the Moon having an atmosphere, due to the Traveler's terraforming. I decided that I will defer to those that are far more scientifically knowledgeable than me, and take Bungie's addition of sound and waving flags on the Moon at face value. Should stick with what they give us, you know?

Another thing: the new Ghost voice. I wrote all of Ghost's dialogue with Dinklage in mind. I might need to change up some dialogue to fit Nolan North's rendition of the Ghost. I know Dinklage is reminiscent of Year One, but now that the character has personality, I wouldn't want to exclude it. But if you preferred Dinklebot, fear not; Ghost will still be his old wisecracking self, and it'll be easy to envision either Dinklage or Nolan Beyond playing the role. :raritywink:

Let Legend be dedicated to Year One and all the Guardians of that year. Y'know, the year in which Legendary Engrams could become Rare, and when people who were Level 30 and equipped with Chatterwhite were spammed with invites at the Tower. :scootangel:

Next chapter should be up soon. Good to be back on Fimfiction.

Welcome back!

RIP
Iconic armor sets
Y'know, the ones on the cover of the game.

Welcome back Guardian. Tower hasn't been the same without you.

Thanks!

Y'know, I never did figure out how to replicate the iconic armor in-game... :applejackunsure:

Thank you. Hope you gave Crota and Oryx hell!

After all... Hard mode is coming... :rainbowdetermined2:

3487783 My plan for hard mode is full proof. I'm going to shoot them all with as many bullets as I can find. Its going to be awesome. Provided I don't have to work every single night after its released.
