I just realize that never told any of my readers anything about me. So here I am. I am being of the Light who enjoys reading about, the Dark. My favorite creature of MLP, would be griffins. My favorite villain would have to be a tie between Grogar, and Sombra. My favorite of the mane 6, would have to be a tie between Twilight and Rarity. And my favorite over all character from MLP, is Spike. My favorite ships are.

My favorite genre books are Tragedies, Romance(No Clops), Science Fiction, Horror, Mystery and Suspense. I do watch TV when I can, too. The shows I like to watch are any of the Cop shows that are on like, Law and Order, CSI, Hawaii-5-O, and so on. But my favorite shows of all time are Doctor Who.
and the new show Gotham. So this is me, an everyday Doctor who/MLP/Anime fan dude who just love to write.

I personally really like your avatar. Also i really want to see Grogar in the series. One thing i personally dont like is that like other villains, Celestia knows of him. Celestia knows all the villains(the only exeption maybe being starlight).
I personally my self gave him a background and i would like to share it:
Grogar lived before Celestia and Luna were born, he was the rival of Starswhirl. Grogar created the magic know as necromancy and was the first one to ever use Dark magic, but because of being new to this power he lost to starwhirl and was vanished to the void but with the promice of return, starswhirl destroyed any record of Groga's life, it was if he never existed.
Still with Grogar traped in the void he is the main reason of the horrors in equestria. He created the Wendigos and the Changelings though they dont know they were created by him. He sedduced Tirek, corrupted the last of the flutterponies turning them into sirens(Adagio, Aria and Sonata), he created the Umbrum and corrupted sombra and Luna aswell wispered to Sunset Shimmer to turn her back on Celestia.
I find it better that Grogar was just a wizard who tried to conquer something and Celstian and Luna vanished him or imprisoned him and only bad stuff started to happend now that is back and Celestia gives all the info to twilight.
Him being an uknown factor and working since before the start makes him more original
3506888 My storylines do put Grogar at predating Princess Celestia and Princess Luna by several, several thousands of years actually. That he has been around for so long that he has even had encounters with Celestia and Luna grandfather was still King. And that Grogar has seen many wars.
But in my storylines he met Starswhirl only ones. When Starswhirl took in a new student. In which Grogar to a avid interest in and decided watch the student from Shadows.
Also my Storylines put although Celestia has never met Grogar face to face she has heard legends of him. but Luna had encounter Grogar several time though the Fact the she was once married to a stallion who had learn many dark spell from Grogar.
I believe that Grogar's motivation is drawn from fact that his empire was token from him, and he ruled for only five hundred years. And for a being who has been around
. It is very insulting that he only ruled an empire for so short of time.
So now he want to establish an empire that will span eons. But in order to do that he will need a new empire of Darkness and an army of the Dark Alicorns. Hence the planned deal that he made with Luna's Husband(in Resurrection and Damnation)
and the later attempted to turn Luna evil(in Tragedies and Nightmares). So he could make an Alliance with Nightmare Moon
Also Ironically enough I do have a story that I have been pondering for way later down the line involving Sunset Shimmer being deceived by somepony that works for Grogar.
As for The Umbrums I do believe Grogar has had several dealing with them. And can often call upon their power to work with him. (in Love and Death's final Chapter). This is also where I have put my ideas on his origins. And it annoys me when the readers assume that Love and Death is filler, when it is not.
Meanwhile as for the origins of the Changelings I have my own origin stories for them that I will write eventually.
3506956 That sounds really good. Heck Discord could have also only know him by name and belive he is a myth. In the original G1 series i can see him being second most bad villain only behind Tirek, but the designs i have seen of him for G4 by the fans make him look even more evil that his original self
