Crusaders of the Lost Mark thoughts (Spoilers)

Ho-ly shit. What an episode. First off it's a musical. That should have told me was important off the bat. Although maybe it was the fact I had to watch it now because everyone was warning spoilers in their blogs about it so... maybe something big goes down. We get to see Diamond Tiara being a bitch. and then we meet her mother and it explained everything. In ten seconds, she know why she is the way she is. And it is shown to us, not told, but clearly conveyed without exposition. Thank you. Then the musical continues with the theme of Tiara being unhappy with being the way she is (a big spoiled friendless jerk). And THEN! Then the CMC give her a chance for redemption. And for the first time in ever, I wasn't sure if it'd be full face turn or 'oh there's potential in her' or 'there is a good person deep down inside that we might see later'. No it was full redemption, confrontation, and character reversal for Diamond Tiara. And I normally don't care a shit lick about her, because she is a super stereotype bully snob... but then we met her mother and there ya go. Oh right, Pipsqueak is back in this episode so cool. It should be noted I'm writing down my thoughts as they come fresh after watching the episode. Alot of singing this musical episode, but it was all pretty good, so no grudges. Anyway, where was I? Ah yes, The CMC helped Diamond Tiara to find that her special talent of getting other to do what she wants can be used for good delegation instead of selfish assholery. Then they're all like: "That was great, we should continue to help others find their cutie marks, even those that already have them, instead of focusing on questing for our own." And BAM! FLASH! HALLELUJAH! They got thier Cutie-Marks! The Cutie Mark Crusaders got their marks not in carpentry, dancing, and singing, but in helping others with their cutie-marks. That's beautiful. Cutie Mark Crusaders forever indeed. And the name doesn't need to change, they still have a crusade for cutie marks but its for others, and not just to GET them to find out what they really mean.

This episode really warms my heart. And it wasn't too saccharine either. It was just the right amount of schmaltz and heaviness ( see Tiara's Mom and AJ canonizing the no parents thing) to make me woah and smile and tear up manly horse tears. Its not lame, I just have a soft spot for stories about those given a clear path they are unsure of themselves and the redemption they have, god I'm so lonely... I'm losing track.
Lets wrap up. CMC actually FOR REALZIES finally get their cutie marks, and they are marks in helping others find their purpose in life. Ho-ly shit, that is beautiful.
