About Me: Why did I join the fandom? · 7:05pm Sep 23rd, 2015
Good question, weird answer. Let's go back in time and witness this somewhat good author's journey into the fandom.
So back when I was uh... into Call of Duty, I was recording for clips when I met a guy named Wuble who was involved in the fandom. He wasn't involved in writing, but rather in video editing. He is damn good at video editing, and when I asked him to edit my episode, he edited it. Here's the episode if you're curious:
He did a fine job on it, and I'm glad he did it. But that wasn't when he mentioned that he was part of the fandom. Before this episode (around November 2012), him and his other friend were talking about the show and I was morbidly curious so they told me about it. Eventually I stumbled in right around the time of when Derpy2012 was happening. If you around when that happened, it was a very bleak time for Derpy. He got me into the show and then he and his friend left the fandom after a year or so. I've stuck around for the most part, watching the show on and off if I'm curious, but I'm mostly into this fandom for the story writing and practice. That's the jist of it.
Now I'm not into Call of Duty and transitioned into CS:GO, so I guess watching the episode back reminds me of the time I actually did do montages, which surprisingly wasn't too long ago (six months?).
Now if we're talking about authors that influence or have influenced me over the years in this fandom, I'd say that got me into writing my first story (A Chance of Fire) was the great man himself: Greatodyer, or as he is now known as Sweet Tale. He influenced me to write my first romance fic, which I honestly enjoyed but now reading it back over, it didn't really fit the standards I have today. I am planning to bring it back, but I'm not sure how the story is going to pan out. But the fic that I read was "Good Things Come", which is a HiE of Luna being with a human male. If I had to say another author that really influenced me in the beginning, I'd also go with Crowley, who really got me into reading second person stories. The way he writes his basic prose really gets you engaged, but he also had a way of twisting it into his own. Not to mention he loved adding pictures into his fics so he not only attracted those who learn or view by reading text, but he also gave images to make sure people understand what is going on.
Now if I had to say who influences me today, I wouldn't be able to give you a straight answer as one or two people who do that. I have a lot of people who influence me, so pinning just a select few seems odd. You know who you are (those who I have favorited). You da bombs.
Hopefully this gets you to know a bit more about me. Thanks to Themaskedferret, who gave me the idea of posting this (who got the idea from The Descendant, so thanks to him as well). ^_^

Ohh, I think that's cool on how you came here.
But hey, we get to continue the circle now; again, thanks for getting me to write a story on fimfic.
Also, +1 for the backround story.
