First Blog! · 7:18pm Aug 4th, 2012
Yay, first blog post! I know that nobody will read this, so I'm mostly just doing this for myself, and to make my page seem less empty.
Okay, first of all, I decided to write a short, silly, one shot test story before posting my first real story. This should allow me to get criticism on my writing style, technique and story building so I can have at least some idea about what I'm doing before I post any longer stories.
The test story should be done in a few days to a week, depending on how busy I am, so I look forward to it getting ripped to shreds and analyzing what I did wrong, which will make me better. I'm pretty excited about this. I'm so sick and tired of admiring things my entire life. I don't want to just admire, I want to be the guy that actually does something for once. And it's not just about getting popular, I really love writing. I think I have some pretty good stories to tell, and I believe that this is the first step to get there.
Also, this:
Just thought you should know in case there were any doubts.
You're not the only one stumbling around blindly in your writing. This is my first time writing ANYTHING seriously and I'm terrified i'm going to mess it up.
285104 Well, I wouldn't worry too much, because you're doing a fantastic job so far. I think I could do a fairly good job once I get started and know what I'm doing, but that's the hardest part for me. The fact that my laptops AC adapter short circuits my computer whenever I use it doesn't help.
Either way, keep doing what you're doing, even if it's stumbling, because it's apparently working for you.
I'll give you two tips that i use in writing.
The first is write down anything and everthing that you think of. EVERYTHING. I have 7 seperate stories stashed away, but only one of tehm is published right now. But if you keep brainstorming, keep finding those new ideas, no matter how crazy or obscure, you might, just might, stumble across something usable. For instance, I came across a way to turn this into a fic becasue of that. Keep writing, even if it doesn't mean anything.
Tip 2: Keep writing, even if it doesn't mean anything. My commentary blogs are a pain in the ass to write becasue i have to be analytical and rational and calm and a lot of bullshit I don't want to do right after i write a chapter. So why do i do it? They're important. It's the internet's nature to erase from existence what doesn't stand out. If you don't make some noise, you'll never get noticed. So if i don't shut up, I'll eventually get noticed. i don't want to write the blogs, but i know of a few people who actually enjoy my entries. It's a start. Doing the unconventional helps an author discover what works and what doesn't, what works best for one's own writing prose, and what one has the most fun in writing.
I love watching writer's bloom I am a writer myself, I just don't usually write pony fiction. I wish you luck in your endevor and I'll follow you so I can catch the story when it comes out. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the watch and giving me a chance! Seriously, it means a lot to know somebody will actually read my story. I won't disappoint you! (At least I'll try) It's rare for a first story to be a raving success, but I won't give up no matter what happens. I'm eager to learn from my mistakes and get better, and knowing at least one person will be there to read it makes me feel so relieved. Thank you again, and I'll try to have my story out as soon as it's done.
(If you decide to post any stories on this site, let me know; I would love to give them a read!)
355415 I like your attidude towards this. Keep it up.
