Well, got some news in the job department. · 11:14pm Aug 30th, 2015

Got an in with one of the hiring managers, and so I should be moving up in the world again, slowly, within a few weeks. Its an aluminum extrusion place, so it is very hot, but it starts off at $13-14 an hour, through a staffing agency, and I would be guaranteed a spot within 45 days if I prove to be a decent worker, because of my connection. Another bad part is that it is 10-12 hour days, 7 days a week, so there goes all sense of free time. But I would be able to pay all my bills, finally, instead of part of them..

I have another job opportunity, but I don't know when they will be hiring again, and I gotta get out of this place. $300 a week isn't great, especially when I put in usually 50+ hrs per week. Hell no.

And I can't honestly say my writing time will cut down, because I usually have too much to worry about every day to be able to write with regularity...

Though, hopefully, I can get caught up in bills in a few weeks/months and have signifcantly less stress, when that other job opens up...

Adieu!

What job would be 10-12 hour days?

3358902 Aluminum extrusion. Not sure what dept. I would be in, but its gotta be better than what I'm at. I worked for a year and a half at a job with one of the worst turnover rates in the area, so I'm sure I can do just fine there

3358902 The other job would be making trailers, 8 hours m-f and aprox $25/hr. Just gotta wait for a position to be open before I can get in.

3358939 I just wish I knew where to look, where they would actually consider hiring me. I have no work experience, at all.

3358943 None, whatsoever?

Well, some factories will hire with no experience, and fast food... Not much else I can think of unless you know people who can get you into places...

As much as I hate them, staffing agencies/temp services can help at least get a foot in the door, but pay less than direct hire..

3358968 I may be using a staffing agency soon, not much choice atm. I do not want to work Fast Food after all. I do have fake work experience though. My aunt owns a company and is willing to take a call and explain I worked for her as a Desk Clerk like job, but she wont hire me...

3358970 Can't blame you... It sucks. But I enjoyed it more than my current work, sadly... May also have been because I don't mind cooking...

3358974 At those places it just seems like they want you to work until you drop dead.

3358976 Pretty much. And you aren't really appreciated. But damned if you make any mistake....

3359087 No, I had quit. I was trained to be able to basically run the whole place, and I usually did in the mornings. I didn't get thanked or anything, it had become expected. But when I make a few mistakes, or have to call off a few times, I got written up. They pretty much only saw the bad.

3359097 Probably how they were trained by corporate. Shitty, shitty corporate...
