Life of Syn - Work & Vacation & Furry Migration! (Also House) · 7:58pm Aug 29th, 2015

G'day!

I'm sitting here at Furry Migration volunteering at registration, and we've hit a lull. That... tends to happen on the afternoons of day 2 at cons, I'm told. So rather than just sit here mugging for the camera....

Lookit this jerk.

...I wanted to give y'all an update.

First off, thanks again to everybody that's reading Sensation and letting me know your opinions. You make me smile.

Work has been a bit brutal lately. Long story short, there was a data issue, and I had to do 2 weeks' worth of analysis in about 3 days. :twilightoops: Things worked out, though, and when I presented the project so far (with LOTS of qualifiers), he seemed pleased. Yay!

Second, apologies for not getting back to the people that have messaged me in the past few days. Every year, my parents rent out a cabin for a week, near the end of the summer when prices come down. I haven't been able to go in almost a decade, but this year, my husband and I got to show up for a couple days. It was lots of fun, but unfortunately it meant very limited internet access. I'll try to get back to everyone soon.

So idyllic!

Pro tip: if you want to go swimming in a cold lake, run into it screaming as loud as you can. Some combination of the humiliation and adrenaline will keep you from feeling cold until it is far, far too late.

This weekend, I'm also at Furry Migration, the local fur con up here in Minnesota. I've been doing some volunteering, seeing a few panels (one of which I want to post on here eventually), and catching up with people. We also got to have lunch with Kyell Gold today. He's a great guy, and if you like Sensation, I highly recommend that you check out his Out of Position series. It's been a huge inspiration of mine, and it's got a ton of content if you like your romantic dramas full of fuzzies.

Also, we're buying a house on Friday! Oh shit! That means another big move, but hopefully it will be the last one for a long, long time. Plus, now we can actually host people! Yay!

In story news, I'm working on the next chapter of Sensation during my down time here. After that, there will be one more chapter in this arc, and then a short hiatus to work on other things. Mostly, I want to get together a Sombra cosplay (anyone go any tips?) and post another comedy story in time for Nightmare Nights. Plus, there's one more project I want to push out the door in the near future, and nestling it between chapter 29 and 30 seems about perfect.

I've now spent too much time on non-horse words. Time to write some horse words. Have a great day, and enjoy your daily Soarburn:

A project between chapter 29 and 30? I really don't know what you mean by that... :raritywink:

Busy... :rainbowderp:

I don't consider myself a furry... Not to certain extents.. I appreciate art... I am not sure how i would feel about going to an event full of them... :rainbowderp:

I once swam in the ocean in temps near freezing...
by 'once' i mean 'a lot'. :rainbowderp:

Awesome news on the house! :pinkiehappy:

The first pic isn't coming up for me.

Hi, IDKNH! The first picture is just of me holding up a badge. You can find it on Twitter!

The event was certainly an experience. Hard to describe unless you've been there. Of course, I was volunteering most of my time there. :rainbowlaugh:
