I have a fragment of an idea for a story that I kind of like. However, I am curious about some opinions on the matter. Of the mane six, which is most likely to own pornography. More specifically a pornographic video.
That's enough for those who want to express their ideas, but I'm going to include my own below the break.
Just going to make this as a list:
Rainbow Dash: most likely to me. Rainbow Dash has a very open and casual air about her. She seems like the one most likely to be comfortable with buying pornography or sex toys. As such, she seems the type most likely to come across something unexpected.
Pinkie Pie: a definite second out of the six. Not because she is the most likely to be comfortable with it -- although I do imagine her being open about sex since it would be about the mutual pleasure of ponies involved -- but because she would be curious and familiar. Pinkie knows everypony in Ponyville, which would include the ponies that run an adult entertainment shop. They would also probably be willing to tell her if something they think she might find interesting comes in.
Fluttershy: very unlikely. Although she is aware that sex is a very natural thing, she would be uncomfortable both with the process of trying to buy something, and that a pony might know about her interest. I could, however, see her asking Rainbow Dash to pick something up for her.
Applejack: apple magazines. Ah, I'm kidding. In actuality, Applejack would not go for videos or toys. With all the family in the house and the little chances of privacy, Applejack would want to keep risk of discovery to a minimum. More likely, she would have some magazines that she hides out in the barn and uses when she can get some alone time. Amusingly her brother would have the same idea.
Rarity: either from another town, or through anonymous mail, and never let another know about it. Rarity does have a public image to maintain that she cares very much about. While sex may be something everypony enjoys, it is also a very private matter that nopony should know about in regards to another. It is also seen as unladylike to own pornography or sex toys. Still, romance novels do not hold the same passion, and a hoof and magic can only do so much. So it is better to find ways to get such materials in a matter that keeps most ponies unaware of.
Twilight Sparkle: ever the scientist, Twilight Sparkle would see it more out of curiosity and as something to study and learn about. However, it is not necessarily for her own sexual pleasure. Not because she has no interest in such things, but because she has other ways to do such things. Besides, she will always prefer a good book.
So, for those of you who bothered to read through it, those are my opinions. Care to share yours?
Video? Dash, certainly.
Books? There's a bit of fictions where Fluttershy writes her own, under a penname, obviously. Quality and popularity vary. Twilight will definitely own some, although she might not like a 'modern' writing style in her smut.
Yeah I agree with you. THe first thing that popped into my head when I read the blurb on my feed was "Rainbow Dash" and I come to the blog to find I am right! She may deny it was porn or play dumb... but she definitely was in that store at some point. Fluttershy only really fits the scenario if we play the "It's always the quiet ones" card. Canon Fluttershy probably wouldn't... If we are accounting for all the different perversions of Fluttershy out there, then yes, Fluttershy is reclusive enough to buy porn and keep it deeply buried.
Applejack might buy it if she can find a proper place to hide... or resort to knock out drugs if she was desperate enough. I find the stereotype abborant so she can if she can find a proper place.
Other than that, I agree with you... I didn't really answer a question.....
I don't see Pinkie owning videos, but would own some toys and much to the annoyance of her friends, she would be quite vocal about owning said toys. I mean have you SEEN her fridge? No way that's all for consumption.
Rainbow Dash in the episodes have shown that while she's loud open and in your face in the company of others, she's actually quite reserved and self reflective on her own. I don't see her owning any videos or toys.
Applejack aint got time for that kinda stuff there's Apples to buck! No wait that came out wrong!
Rarity probably owns like, 3 copies of Shades Of Gray and even brought the DVD.
Twilight owns an extensive collection of videos. Now if only she could actually use them correctly instead of just taking notes.
