Terminator Genisys review(ish) · 9:29pm Aug 1st, 2015
WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
So, I went to see the new Terminator earlier, and I did like it. I found it interesting, and I was invested.
However, this movie isn't all dandy, and candy land.
I personally don't think at was a bad movie, but, I was surprised by one thing.
Matt Smith is a bad guy.
When I saw him in the beginning, I was like, "Oh! Look, it's the Doctor!" And, then he turned out to be a bad guy.
Basically, he's Skynet.
(He's a robot! You can tell by the chin!)
I did like that it started out similar to the first movie, even recycling some scenes, and making references to Judgment Day, the second movie.
Although, John Conner is a bad guy? That was...unexpected.
Now, one thing that I think might've drew people away is that it's not a sequel. They're restarting the universe with a fresh start, similar to the most recent Star Trek movies. And, why is this a bad thing? It gave them a clean slate to work with, rather than a pre-existing storyline. Plus there is room for a sequel, as we don't know who sent old Arnie Terminator to Sarah Conner when she was 9.
So, for those of you who saw the movie, why didn't you like it?
As par usual, let me know in the comments.
I just can't explain it, but I really didn't like this movie. I don't know why.
3287729 Hm. Everyone has their own opinion, I guess.
