Been a while since I did one of these...
Genetics of a Scene probably(definitely) wouldn't have happened if I didn't get a pm from one of my awesome followers. After the second part, I was really done. I had no new ideas and no real inclination to continue the saga.
Then, I got the message and on the drive home from the library i started thinking. How could I continue? The first one was AB finding out the truth and the second was her coming to terms with it. So for this one, the conflict had to be more external. What if AB wanted to spend some time and get to know her new sister? Enter a third wheel.
One of the comments pointed out how similar the idea is to the Sisterhooves Social episode. I noticed that about halfway through writing the third chapter, when I watched season 2 again. But whatever. The big difference is in Sweetie Belle. In the episode, she's the active part of the triangle, with AB being in a more passive role. In my thing, she's not trying to take AB's sister. All of the problem is with AB.
I made a lame joke at the end of the third chapter that whether or not the aforementioned message was a good thing, expecting a mildly mixed reaction. The minute I posted the story, I started worrying that it'd be taken the wrong way. But nope, they're still being awesome and helpful. Sometimes I'll ask my followers questions about how the site works and whether a name or story sounds good. No matter how annoyingly obvious the question may be, you guys are always willing to help me out.
