    Where art thou, oh Artichoke?

Sorry, I'm a bit busy. I had two hobbies before I got a job. Writing here, and developing AI. I hit a wall here with the new changeling episode, but in my AI development, I found a highway.

Look at my AI! My AI is amazing!

    The New Hive Super Edit

Just letting you guys know I nearly redid the entire last chapter because of a few complaints I got. (In case re-publishing didn't work.) They were definitely valid, even if I didn't agree 100% with the reasoning behind them, and now I think my story's much better because of the changes I made.

    Keep up the constructive criticism!

    Would you like a collab?

I've actually been thinking of adding some collaboration into 'The New Hive' since its inception. I can't really create a realistic representation of humanity all by myself after all.

    Waiting for editors to compile...

So, my next chapter's done. Just need to wait for editors to do their thing. And from what I can see from the first editor, I made quite a few mistakes.

Well, now I have guilt-free free time... What should I do... Hmm...

I might start making a game · 6:36pm Jul 30th, 2015

I'm thinking of making a video game. Tell me what you think.

So you start off as the son/daughter/disciple of an eccentric rich guy who buys you whatever you could want in an aircraft. Luckily, you're enthusiastic about aircrafts. All the practice and tutorials are done here.

Outside of your home though, there's intense competition between the four nations. Each of them has wildly different technology, views on life, strategies, and themes. These four nations are Magia, Steamland, The United Federation, and The Gestalt Hives. Exploring them and talking to people there will help you find more parts for your aircrafts and aircraft bays.

Magia

This "land" typically resides in the clouds, on beautiful floating islands. Their "technology", if you can call it that, takes a very long time to improve. Occasionally someone will be born with impressive magical powers or a new magical artifact will be found. However, other races haven't yet been able to repeat some of their accomplishments, so they do not need rapid advancement. (They have things like teleportation and levitation.)

This nation is mostly passive. NPCs here will help you out with things like medical expenses, insurance, and low market prices, but few will help you out in competitions or wars between nations. You can ally yourself with some insurance specialists, and if you're really lucky, one of those mages with impressive magical powers and a stronger competitive drive than most of their nation. (Allying means you can decide where they live and use their homes like waypoints, though, they may sometimes disagree on the exact location you decide for them. It's kind of like terraria, but with more 'free will' from the NPCs.)

Steamland

This nation has is more fanatic about steampunk than most steampunk cons. The things they create are both beautiful and increasingly complex. Unlike Magia, their lands are on normal ground.

This is the second most aggressive nation. They specialize in weaponry and impulse movements; while their aircrafts don't have strong defense compared to the other nations, explosive bursts and toroids of air make them nearly impossible to hit. They also have other tools like grappling hooks that make the movement of their crafts even more unpredictable.

Here, you can ally yourself with mechanics, weapon specialists, and secondary thruster specialists. I might add in a diplomat who could stop some of the later battles or get more tools for your plane.

The United Federation

This is the closest to what you're used to. Think America, but a bit more high tech. While they don't advance in technology as quickly as Steamland, their studies are much broader.

Here you'll find strategist NPCs, improvements to GUIs and mipmaps, specialists in style/personalization, and bomb specialists. Yes, they have nukes.

The Gestalt Hives

This is by far the most aggressive and most advanced nation. Its origin is unknown, but rumors are that it started from several experiments in nanotechnology from the United Federation. The research was to be shut down when the creations could be called living, as they no longer passed ethics. But the scientists fled the nation to continue their research, thinking they could live off of their living machines even in the deadliest parts of the world. If the rumor holds true, then they were right.

This nation is more sure of their supremacy than anyone in Steamland. They believe resources are wasted on people that can't experience life like they can in their modified forms, and that living without nanotechnology is a horrible tragedy that must be stopped.

Unlike the other nations, most of the people live their lives in flesh covered caves called hives, getting energy from everything including volcanoes, nuclear fuel, geothermal heat, solar, etc.

Here you can ally with the best medics, self-repairing technology specialists, and rapid erosion weaponry specialists.

Many hives don't actually care about war, but the Gestalt Hives population is massive. The only reason the nation hasn't started war to convert the rest of the world is because they couldn't yet replicate Magia's creations, but rumors are that a powerful mage has defected from Magia and started talks with one of the more controversial hives. And it might be someone close to home to you.

The lands will be procedurally generated because I'm much better at programming than art, and the fasted machines we have now can go up to mach 20. There will also be co-op ability, boss battles and random enemies, different jobs like cave exploration, quests, mapping, etc., and online competitions like combined capture the flag, hide and seek, and shooting games.
