There are so many good stories on FIMFiction and I want to read them all...But I'm too lazy

While reading over so many fantastic stories, it's hard not to think of the authors as being gods. How do you compete with that?
The reason I joined FIMFiction was not only to read, but to also engage and hopefully publish my own stuff 
Sometimes, it's difficult to balance time reading and time writing.
The most conflicting experience is when you find a story that is said to be awesome...but it's sooo looong.
Anyone else get this?
