On Re-Writing, and Why I Am an Idiot

Hey pony peeps.

The problem with being new to a site is that it all takes some getting used to. It's something everyone has to go through, but sometimes, when you're just plain dumb, it actually legitimately hurts the people you care about. Namely, my fic.

So! Just as an update.

Kingdom of Loving: Fear and Loving received a significant rewrite of its later chapters due to mental creative differences between me and my various psychoses. I managed to delete a chapter, readd a chapter, wrongly order the chapters, and basically just do everything a hundred times more complicated than it should have been. I apologize in advance for any inbox spam this may have caused you!

Now, for those of you still interested in why I rewrote it, read on, but be warned, the following contains spoilers!

When I was first writing Kingdom of Loving I hadn't settled on the real method of revealing the villain. Chrysalis is such a commonly used character that I wanted to do something different, but I didn't quite know how to get her in there and still maintain an interesting dynamic. She was always supposed to be an allegory of sorts for Sunset learning to deal with the abusive relationship of a family member as compared to the love of someone who genuinely cares for you. Why she turned into a Tyranid monster I have no idea. Really, it's probably because I just fucking love Godzilla monsters. I really questioned myself and second-guessed myself on whether I could tell a mature story and still have over the top pony action sequences. Ultimately I think that answer is yes, and I hope that the new content reflects that. For those of you who though the Godzilla twist was a good one, I won't spoil any future plans to bring that element back. For those of you who haven't read the new content but read the old story, please let me know how you think it works now!
