FNAF scares me in real life... again · 5:15am Jul 14th, 2015
So yeah, I just got a new job this week, which would explain my inconsistencies in my chapter releases, but that's beside the point. So, one of my co-workers, his phone's ringtone is a platypus cry, which is basically a series of organic like clicks.
So I was writing the next chapter of Freddy Fazbear on my break, and my co-worker's bag with his phone inside it was behind me hanging on the wall. Since I was writing with Freddy and the gang as characters, my mind was focusing on FNAF lore and whatnot. But when that platypus ringtone came on right there, I literally jumped out of my seat, because the stupid phone, muffled by the bag it was in, made it sound like Springtrap was in the room right behind me. And since I was in my 'fantasizing about FNAF' mode, I thought that killer yellow bunny was right behind me.
The dang thing almost gave me a mini heart attack!
Anyways, as for the new chapter? Hopefully I can finish it by tomorrow and post it without any other delays.
It's hard having a full-time job now, and again, I'm sorry work gets in the way with my hobby here (which I hope will someday become my job, though not necessarily about ponies)
Thanks for reading!

PS: All hype for FNAF4! The trailer came out tonight, and it looks awesome!
I never understood the popularity of those games
3236548 I think it has to do mostly with the treasure hunt factor, in trying to piece together what happened. It's like playing a crime solving game while playing another one. Plus the concept of colorful animatronics as the scare factor is something you rarely see now a days, focusing mostly on monster or demonic beings, as well as a few paranormal activity types.
And I'm sorry for you Shadow, but one would think you would have gotten used to FNAF by now.

Ehh, I prefer supernatural and psychological myself

lol
I think the problem is that you're actually writing fnaf fanfiction
Hey Shadow have you managed to sleep these last days?
Because I do not. By the fault of Nightmare Bunny and his freaking jumpscare!

I think I would have too, but in the end, I know I can just look back on it and laugh. Even when I was typing this, I was chuckling at how ridiculous it sounded.
But it's harder for me to get used to it because horror can bring back out the fears you had as a child, and back when I was a little kid, I took one look at that ugly Chuck E Cheese animatronic, and I did not want to set foot near that thing! But then again, I do feel a little terror in a lot of horror games, even the ones I only watch youtubers play. I guess I'm just a natural scaredy-cat.
So why do I write about FNAF even though the animatronics terrify me? Well, for one thing, I may have turned all of them into normal animals partly because of that fact, so writing them in my minds eye wouldn't be so unnerving. But secondly, Scott Cawthorn made an amazing story out of these guys, and I couldn't resist trying something with it.

Hey, found this video. I think this may help at least illuminate why it is scary for some people. (Not all people)

I'll watch it; I was just saying that I prefer my horror to be psychological and stuff like The original bioshock or silent hill 2

That's understandable

I can still apreciate a good jump scare but I like to have the nagging feeling in the back of my head more
