Lifeguard Testing

So today I started working again as a lifeguard, well by “working” I mean I had to be tested again to check if I still could handle the stresses of the job. I had been a lifeguard for four years prior, and had administered the test myself a few times, so I had some prior expectations on what was going to go on. However, the test had become a lot shorter in the last two years since I was working. I spent just three hours in the water, compared to the six hours it use to take. My muscles were still aching afterward though. I did the aptitude test with a new guy, and he was practically drowning himself by the end of it! He was a good swimmer though, still showing perfect form as he was starting to pass out. He still passed the test though, and of course I did too. Its kind of funny, I feel old. There are ten lifeguards on staff including me and the new guy, and I’m the oldest at twenty-two!
