So basically this episode is now a serious contender with Slice of Life for my favorite MLP episode to date. There was just so much cool stuff about it. Anybody who says that MLP is dying just needs to look at this episode to see that isn't really the case. Oh, and props to the writer for including the nod to Phillip K. Dick in the episode title.
Final episode review (without spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet): 10/10 best episode ever.
Ok maybe one small spoiler. Lyra and Bon Bon (Special Agent Sweetie Drops?) are best CatDog reference.

Praise princess Mac
I thought this was a much better version of Slice of Life, because the cool, surprising stuff didn't make the episode disjointed fluff. There were more significant stakes and it made sense to go crazy in a shared dream world, which itself is one of my favorite recurring ideas.

you're spot on about that. also there was a surprising amount of things that they literally just took straight out of fan works (the Spike knight, Princess Big Mac, giant cuddly oversized adorable Best Pony...)
Not to rain on your parade, but that's a Philip K. Dick reference, not an Isaac Asimov reference.
