Review Day + #M235 · 9:10pm Jul 9th, 2015
M235 has gone through changes. Too many, I know. This second one was the worst change yet, and it wasn't even because it was more chapters. It felt shorter to most, the style that you guys subscribed to died in an instant, and well, lots of things I could go on and list happened that you all neither liked or didn't like. Honestly, looking at it now, I feel the same way. As I've developed as an author here on fimfic, I've changed my style drastically. Better or for worse? Not sure yet, but realizing about two weeks ago that what I wrote for M235 was not how I wanted that story to go, nor how I wanted that style of writing to play out made me want to do something drastic. So I did. I decided I'm returning to that old style of writing and giving you guys and gals the story you should've gotten. So let's do something drastic, here shall we?
I came up with an idea for the story that would still use the events from the first draft without feeling too deviated (at least, I hope). Story takes place in Canterlot, where Sweetie Belle is at the School for Gifted Unicorns thanks to Twilight and Rarity for persuading her to go. After feeling homesick and drained from studying for her exams, she talks to her friend Shooting Star (In fic, she's usually referred to as "Star") and tells her how she feels. After getting kicked out of the study they were in for being too loud, they talk at Star's apartment, where they have a heart to heart. Still stressed, Sweetie Belle stays at Star's apartment, where she sleeps on her couch. Unfortunately, waking up, she gets sick, and has to talk to the Headmaster of the school to get exempt from her exams. From there, she gets her ticket out to go home and unwind from the stress of school. However, on the train ride back to Ponyville, two stallions were talking about a new species had been discovered in Ponyville. Sweetie Belle talks to the stallions, but all they give her is non-answers. It gets her curious. Well, when she gets there, Sweetie Belle meets Levi through Twilight at the... hospital. It should take off where the first draft would be (at least, some of the events and past flashbacks), but with the inclusion of the school drama and what not (exams, Shooting Star, other problems).
If we go with the new idea, it would be based off season five canon. If we go with the original story, it would be based off season four (before the library went kaboom) canon. This will be the final rewrite for that story. And it won't be posted until it's finished. Now, the chapters won't be posted all at once, but I will have that stuff finished and have a chapter for you all daily. Don't worry, M235 won't be dead for much longer. This will be the fic that will teach me scene progression and man...
