Bandleader. TV Presenter. Part-time song-smith. Actress. And a singer who has maintained her vocal talent like no other. All of these things describe a Manehattan pony named Babs Seed. Born 16 years ago this year, Babs dazzles audiences around the world with a perky accent, soft style, and incredible presentation. Her TV show is seen by and dazzles more than 28 million viewers worldwide (including her native Equestria).

In short, Babs Seed's one of the greatest and most delightful singers ever to come around Equestria in the years following the Second World War.

And her voice is so beautiful it could command anything. There are great modern masterpieces here. Yesterday I Heard The Rain. The Shadow Of Your Smile. Somewhere My Love (Lara's Theme in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's latest classic Doctor Zhivago). It Was A Very Good Year. What Now My Love? Really beautiful pieces. And then there is the fact that Babs is never out of touch with her youth either. She sings, with conviction, Chad & Jeremy's million-selling Summer Song, Bob Dylan's wonderful Mr. Tambourine Man, and the Beatles' beautifully penned new songs Norwegian Wood and You've Got To Hide Your Love Away.

She does splendidly and spontaneously well on this album and is a superb vocalist as far as her age goes. Remember, in '66 and any other year, THERE IS ONLY ONE BABS SEED.

Dynagroove records are the product of RCA Victor's newly patented system of recording which provides a spectacular improvement in the sound quality.

CHARACTERISTICS:
1. Brilliance and clarity --- the original sound in startling definition
2. Realistic presence --- sound projected in "photographic" perspective
3. Full-bodied tone --- even when you listen at low level
4. Surface noise virtually eliminated!
5. Inner-groove distortion virtually eliminated!

To solve these old and obstinate problems in disc recording, highly-ingenious computers --- "electronic brains" --- have been introduced to audio for the first time. These remarkable new electronic devices and processes grew out of an intense research program which produced notable advances in virtually every step of the recording science.

The final test of any record is in the listening---compare the sound of Dynagroove recordings!

Dynagroove recordings are mastered on RCA Magnetic Tape.

SIDE 1

1---THE SHADOW OF YOUR SMILE
(from the Warner Brothers film ''The Sandpiper'') (Johnny Mandel-Paul Francis Webster)

One day we walked along the sand
One day in early spring
You held a piper in your hand
To mend its broken wing
Now I'll remember many a day
And many a lonely mile
The echo of a piper's song
The shadow of a smile

The shadow of your smile
When you are gone
Will color all my dreams
And light the dawn
Look into my eyes
My love and see
All the lovely things
You are to me

Our wistful little star
Was far too high
A teardrop kissed your lips
And so did I
Now when I remember spring
All the joy that love can bring
I will be remembering
The shadow of your smile

2---A SUMMER SONG (Stuart-Metcalfe-Noble)

Trees swayin' in the summer breeze
Showin' off their silver leaves
As we walked by

Soft kisses on a summer's day
Laughing all our cares away
Just you and I

Sweet sleepy warmth of summer nights
Gazing at the distant lights
In the starry sky

They say that all good things must end some day
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you
Wish you didn't have to go

And when the rain beats against my window pane, I'll think of summer days again and dream of you.

They say that all good things must end some day
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you
Wish you didn't have to go

And when the rain beats against my window pane, I'll think of summer days again and dream of you.~

3---YESTERDAY I HEARD THE RAIN (Dick Lees-Armando Manzanero)

Yesterday I heard the rain
Whispering your name
Asking where you'd gone

It fell softly from the clouds
On the silent crowds
As I wandered on

Out of doorways
Black umbrellas came to pursue me
Faceless people as they passed
Were looking through me, no one knew me

Yesterday I shut my eyes
Face-up to the skies
Shrinkin' in the rain

But your image still was there
Floating in the air
Brighter than a flame

Yesterday I saw a city
Full of shadows without pity
And I heard the steady rain
Whispering your name, whispering your name!

Yesterday I shut my eyes
Face-up to the skies
Shrinkin' in the rain

But your image still was there
Floating in the air
Brighter than a flame

Yesterday I saw a city
Full of shadows without pity
And I heard the steady rain
Whispering your name, whispering your name!

Yesterday I shut my eyes
Face-up to the skies
Shrinkin' in the rain

But your image still was there
Floating in the air
(fade)

4---WHAT NOW, MY LOVE? (Bécaud-Delanoë-Sigman)

What now my love, now that you've left me?
How can I live, live through another day?
Watching my dreams turned to ashes
And my hopes turning to bits of clay.

Once I could see, once I could feel
Now I am numb, I've become unreal
I walked the night, without a goal
Stripped of my heart, my soul.

What now my love? Now that it's over
I feel the world it's closing in on me
Here come the stars, tumbling around me
there's the sky where the sea should be

What now my love? Now that you're gone
I'd be a fool to go on and on and on
No one would care, no one would cry
If I should live if I should live or die

What now my love? Now that it's over
Nothing is left, my last goodbye
My last goodbye.~

5---YOU'VE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY (from the United Artists film ''Help!'')
(John Lennon-Paul McCartney)

Here I stand head in hand
Turn my face to the wall
If he's gone I can't go on
Feeling two-foot small

Everywhere people stare
Each and every day
I can see them laugh at me
And I hear them say

Hey! You've got to hide your love away!
Hey! You've got to hide your love away!

How can I even try?
I can never win
Hearing them, seeing them
In the state I'm in

How could he say to me
"Love will find a way"?
Gather round all you clowns
Let me hear you say

Hey! you've got to hide your love away!
Hey! you've got to hide your love away!

6---MR. TAMBOURINE MAN (Bob Dylan)

Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I’m not sleepy and there is no place I’m going to
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I’ll come followin’ you

Though I know that evenin’s empire has returned into sand
Vanished from my hand
Left me blindly here to stand but still not sleeping
My weariness amazes me, I’m branded on my feet
I have no one to meet
And the ancient empty street’s too dead for dreaming

Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I’m not sleepy and there is no place I’m going to
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I’ll come followin’ you

Take me on a trip upon your magic swirlin’ ship
My senses have been stripped, my hands can’t feel to grip
My toes too numb to step
Wait only for my boot heels to be wanderin’
I’m ready to go anywhere, I’m ready for to fade
Into my own parade, cast your dancing spell my way
I promise to go under it

Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I’m not sleepy and there is no place I’m going to
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I’ll come followin’ you

Though you might hear laughin’, spinnin’, swingin’ madly across the sun
It’s not aimed at anyone, it’s just escapin’ on the run
And but for the sky there are no fences facin’
And if you hear vague traces of skippin’ reels of rhyme
To your tambourine in time, it’s just a ragged clown behind
I wouldn’t pay it any mind
It’s just a shadow you’re seein’ that he’s chasing

Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I’m not sleepy and there is no place I’m going to
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I’ll come followin’ you

Then take me disappearin’ through the smoke rings of my mind
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow

Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I’m not sleepy and there is no place I’m going to
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning I’ll come followin’ you!~

SIDE 2

1---SPANISH EYES (Kaempfert-Singleton-Snyder)

Blue spanish eyes
Tearsdrops are falling from your Spanish eyes
Please, please don't cry
This is just adios and not goodbye

Soon I'll return
Bringing you all the love your heart can hold
Please say si si
Say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me

Blue Spanish eyes
Prettiest eyes in all of Mexico
True Spanish eyes
Please smile for me once more before I go

Soon I'll return
Bringing you all the love your heart can hold
Please say si si
Say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me!~

2---IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR (Ervin Drake)

When I was seventeen, it was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls
And soft summer nights
We'd hide from the lights
On the village green
When I was seventeen

When I was twenty-one, it was a very good year
It was a very good year for city girls
Who lived up the stairs
With all that perfumed hair
And it came undone
When I was twenty-one

When I was thirty-five, it was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls
Of independent means
We'd ride in limousines
Their chauffeurs would drive
When I was thirty-five

But now the days are short, I'm in the autumn of my years
And I think of my life as vintage wine
From fine old kegs
From the brim to the dregs
It poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year.~

3---NORWEGIAN WOOD (John Lennon-Paul McCartney)

I once had a boy
Or should I say she once had me
He showed me his room
Isn't it good Norwegian wood?

He asked me to stay
And he told me to sit anywhere
So I looked around
And I noticed there wasn't a chair

I sat on the rug biding my time
Drinking his wine
We talked until two and then he said
"It's time for bed"

He told me he worked
In the morning and started to laugh
I told him I didn't
And crawled off to sleep in the bath

And when I awoke I was alone
This bird had flown
So I lit a fire
Isn't it good Norwegian wood?~

4---STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT (from the Universal film ''A Man Could Get Killed'')
(Kaempfert-Singleton-Snyder)

Strangers in the night exchanging glances
Wondering in the night
What were the chances we'd be sharing love
Before the night was through

Something in your eyes was so inviting
Something in your smile was so exciting
Something in my heart told me I must have you

Strangers in the night, two lonely people
We were strangers in the night
Up to the moment when we said our first hello

Little did we know
Love was just a glance away
A warm embracing dance away

And ever since that night we've been together
Lovers at first sight, in love forever
It turned out so right for strangers in the night

Strangers in the night, two lonely people
We were strangers in the night
Up to the moment when we said our first hello

Little did we know
Love was just a glance away
A warm embracing dance away

Ever since that night we've been together
Lovers at first sight, in love forever
It turned out so right for strangers in the night.~

5---THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM (from the musical production ''Man of La Mancha'')
(Joe Darion-Marion Leigh)

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go

To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest, to follow that star,
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To fight for the right without question or cause
To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause

And I know if I'll only be true to this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To fight the unbeatable foe, to reach the unreachable star.~

6---SOMEWHERE MY LOVE (Lara's Theme)
(from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film ''Doctor Zhivago'') (Maurice Jarre-Paul Francis Webster)

Somewhere my love, there will be songs to sing,
Although the snow covers the hope of spring,
Somewhere a hill blossoms in green and gold,
And there are dreams, all that your heart can hold.

Someday, we'll meet again my love,
Someday, whenever the Spring breaks through.

You'll come to me out of the long ago,
Warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow,
Till then my sweet, think of me now and then,
God speed our love, 'till you are mine again.

You'll come to me out of the long ago,
Warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow,
Till then my sweet, think of me now and then,
God speed our love, 'till you are mine again.~
