GUYS! SCOTUS! MARRIAGE! LOVE WINS! HAPPY! USA! GGRVLBLTDGVHK!!!!
*ahem*
The world got a little better today.
Earlier this morning, the US Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that marriage is a right, regardless of sexual orientation. You can get married, all.
My husband and I got married just under two weeks ago, and amazing as it was, we knew there were still areas of the country that our rights would not be recognized. We talked about how crazy it was that we could cross an invisible line somewhere in our own country, and suddenly have to worry about things and like an accident and what it would mean. Backwards thinking kept us from being secure.
That changed today. SCOTUS did the right thing, and now our marriage is recognized everywhere in the US. About damn time.
I can't tell you how overjoyed I am right now. I've been pelting my friends with insane strings of excited, vaguely comprehensible syllables all morning. Lunch break is almost over, but there's going to be one HELL of a celebration at Pride this weekend.
If you need someone to talk to or just want to take part in my exuberance, hit me up here via message or on Twitter @VividSyntax .
Go cuddle a queen person today, and when things look dark, remember that love conquers all.

Is that what that was about? Go me for not listening to the news enough to know what's going on. -_-
I'm happy to hear about this.
I was overjoyed to see this. Truly a wonderful, historic day in America! And congrats again on your marriage!
It's nice watching Scalia being upset about most things
can't imagine pride being anything other than a rock your face off wicked sweet party
Congrats again on avoiding changeling wedding shenanigans (I assume )

Yep! Don't feel bad, though. It caught several people by surprise.

Thanks, Bad! Congrats on living in a country where you can get married in any state.

This. This forever.
Pride was awesome, even though I was volunteering for Gaylaxicon for most of today. Thanks for the happy thoughts!

Well it does make me feel a bit better. Would be nice to be able to keep up with things like politics better.
