Vinyl cosplay and recap of EDC · 2:09am Jun 24th, 2015
So I've made it clear I went to Las Vegas, enjoying the Electric Daisy Carnival festival.
As it's an Electronic Music festival, it made sense to dress as the best pony.
I took the tank off a bit after the entering, mainly because it kept getting sweaty (I was dancing my ass off!), and besides, look at the usual raver girl outfit.
All in all, I had an absolute blast. There were some hiccups here and there (namely that my wig got hot and itchy frequently, having to use disgusting port-a-potties, and dust kicking up in the air), but other than that, I had loads of fun. Hopefully... one day... Team Spectrum can all come together for this.
Incidentally, Vinyl is one of my favorite characters to write in the Spectrumverse. Not just because of music tastes and whatnot, but also because, in a way, I could visualize myself in her dilemmas, arcs, etc, the most easily. I actually could see myself possibly going insane if I ever lost someone I truly loved. She cracks jokes and listens to/makes "happy" music, but she isn't exactly quite all there either (not saying I'm mentally ill or depressed, no need to worry). She's fun for me to write personally because she is a great example of that "Future Badass" type of character in Spectrum as well as a great deconstruction of said character type.
Huh, I went from talking about my vacation to a thing about writing my favorite pony in such a dark fashion... weird.
Also...
For those that need an explanation of the joke, "Unicorn Slayers" refers to one of my favorite trance DJs, Markus Schulz (seeing him was definitely one of my personal highlights). Sorry my little friends, but I love his music too much.
