MissKoi reviews the One and Only "Princess Spike"

When I first read the synopsis for this bad boy, I was like "No. Just No." A un-fun Spike episode, here we come. Weeeee....

However, once I saw the promos for "Princess Spike/Party Pooped", I got excited for it and realized that "Hold on, this is Season 5 remember. Never read a book by it's cover, it just might exceed your expectations."
And sure enough, it did!:D Not saying it's a super amazing episode, but it's a good Spike episode and a decent episode overall. Spike is a good character and he deserves good episodes too.
The reasons why I enjoy this episode...well...some are shallow reasons but some are intellectual reasons.
Let's get to the episode shall we:
-Cool, there's a grand pony delegates conference!:D Yay world-building! (I don't why I found this cool, maybe it's because of all the tents inside of the grand Canterlot castle and just seeing all those tents made me giggle:P)
-OH MY GOSH! HE'S BACK! FLUFFY CLOUDS IS BACK!

AND HE SPEAKS! HE SPEAKS! He sounds just how I imagined it to be:D My headcanon about him is true! He is a nerdy Pegasus that doesn't know how to properly interact with others:D THANK YOU LARSON!

Again, I have no idea why I'm so dang excited about this...Maybe it's because I wasn't expecting to see him again. Let alone have a speaking role in this.
-There's a griffin there too! Yes, griffins live in pony towns too!

I'm Grandpa Gruff in this scenario and Gilda are my readers mocking me to point out little things like one griffon in the background of an episode:P
-Yay Cadence is back! And she's there to give good advice and guide Spike in the episode, sweet:D

-Daww sleepy Twilight cuddling in the book pile to sleep<3

- Hooray Fancy Pants is back! He's a delegate for Canterlot, cool! The writing for this episode was perfect too, it expressed his personality so well while giving it some more depth, also cool:)

But...where's Fleur de Lis? Where's your baby Fancy?
Hmmm...I think she's busy fighting changelings again.

Oh well anyway!
-Alright let's get to the good and the bad of this episode: The first part of Spike's arc was great. He was using what he knew of Twilight and the friendship lessons he learned to help the pony delegates with their problems. He made sure things were quiet for Twilight so that she could sleep(although to be fair, I had a feeling that in this episode she could have slept through anything). Even though it was bad to delay projects like cutting down heavy and dense trees and fixing a broken pipe line, but if Spike kept his promise to just delay it for a few hours, woke Twilight up and then tell the guys to start the projects back up, all would have been fine. I just appreciate the good intentions in Spike's actions and how humble he was when solving problems for Twilight. He was doing what he does best: Being the number one assistant! However, the second part of his arc he let the whole ego of having princess power get to his head and yada yada:/ Luckily, that doesn't last long and Spike realizes his mistakes and apologies and helps fix his mistakes by starting to fix the cool and cute statue. Daww every pony else helps out too<3 Love it!
-I feel ya Spike in terms of those DragonSneeze flowers, I have bad dust and grass pollen allegories.
Overall, I give this episode a strong 7.8 hearts out of 10.
