    Lean

No matter which way you lean, sometimes you want someone there to prop you up. From the most stoic, cynical, and introverted among us to the butterfly socialite. As a social species, our health measurably suffers when we're lonely. A big part of that social interaction comes in the form of simply expressing things. In recognizing there are others experiencing what we're experiencing and, simply

Hungry Ch1 & 2 Rewrite · 5:55am Jun 19th, 2015

I am by no means a prolific writer. Unlike much better authors than myself, I don't have a writing schedule. I don't force myself to write every day, every week, or even every month. I write when I happen to feel like writing, and I do so because it will be fun for me to do so.

There have been many times I thought I should mark this story as being on hiatus. There have been periods of time plenty long enough where I wrote not one word for it, and the change would probably qualify. But the problem for me is that during those periods of time, I didn't think actively of the story to have made the change, and every time I did think of the story I cracked it open and wrote some more words. So it never fully went on hiatus even if it technically could have.

It has been awhile, but I've never completely stopped poking away, chipping away or polishing this thing. Chapter 3 is getting close to done. I have a lot of outlining, designing, and even some drafting accomplished on many future chapters.

It may not be obvious yet, nor been obvious to those who have read what little is currently published, but Hungry will be a full novel-length story. And if my progress so far is any indication at all, it is going to be a very long time before I hit that complete button. If you're looking to get a regularly updates, serial-feel from me and this work, you'll likely be disappointed. But I do hope those of you who are with me this early in the project have enormous patience to see it to the end. I hope that you'll enjoy what is coming up.

Oh yes, the title of this blog. I've rewritten the two chapters that are out. They've undergone extensive polish and editing this time around. I took to heart a lot of the feedback I recieved, as well as spent quite a bit of time discussing down to nuance some of the stuff contained within. This is not to say I'm letting my readers write the story for me. I still have a firm picture of what Hungry is about in my head. It was obvious from some of the feedback that that image was not displaying correctly though, and I feel these rewrites will do a much better job of telling the story of Hungry.

If you've already read the story, I'd like to ask you, unreasonable as the request may be, to read again. I think you'll like what I've done.

honestly, i think that's the only thing that we all want from an author. to have them keep on working at their story, even if it's just a little bit at a time.
