Recently I unfollowed a couple of users who I will not mention by name because they supposedly lied to a bunch of people. This site is beginning to get so ridiculous for me that sometimes I'm thinking about leaving the site for a week. It's just a pony fanfiction site, guys! You don't need to lie to people to get more followers!

Some people lie about killing themselves. Some people use alternate accounts to downvote other stories and upvote their own.

This is why I don't like the upvoting system on websites. We need to come up with a system like Facebook where you can just like and that is it.

I know! On Equestria Daily, there was a time when you could also downvote people's comments, but now you can only upvote them.
3157438 That is always the smart route to go. I hope more websites will adopt this system eventually because downvoting leads to some bad karma and attracts all of the wrong types of people.

I agree. Also, there's users on this site who remove critically acceptable comments on their stories because "they were being mean to them".
3157513 Well, I have had to remove comments because the person was outright trolling me/ saying rude things.
I think there are times when it is acceptable to remove comments.
And for that reason, I wish they would adopt a system where it doesn't show that you've deleted comments.
Because sometimes the user has a very good reason for doing so.

3157628 I also notice that a lot of people don't know the difference between constructive criticism and outright being rude. I should make a post about that in my group.
But anyway, a good example is a post someone made on one of my stories that I had to delete which was really mean, had nothing to do with fixing the story, or whatever.
So then they send me this message asking me why I deleted their comments and I proceeded to highlight the things they said and tell them why that isn't constructive criticism, and give them examples of how to offer constructive criticism.
And they were honestly confused about what I was talking about and replied, "Oh well either writers suck or they don't."
Face palm. No...that isn't how it works. You might not like the writing style of someone...that is fine. But if you go around telling people not to write and their stories suck and to give up...well, there's no helping you is there?
Double face palm.
Anyways, you get the idea.
