No More Perspective Patterns in Discord! Under His Rule · 9:35pm Jun 10th, 2015
Let's be honest, this mechanic is just a gimmick. Switching perspectives every other chapter wasn't a good idea.
What taking this mechanic away will bring:
- Better pacing
- More omniscent and descriptive language
The former is the attribute I was having the most trouble with. Going on to Chapter V, it becomes a drag where there seriously should not be one. Also, looking further down the road, it will help with pacing significantly, as there are twists I have in store that are simply not possible with this mechanic. It restricted more than it freed.
So, there are more updates that I want to go over. Celestia's character is going to be tamed. Her character is going to be the most developed—as she is the main protagonist—throughout the story, and there are things that I just added to her character that, instead of developing into better attributes, sorta disappear farther along the line. This may change the story and her viewpoints on things entirely, though I hope to keep whatever I can so that another version of this story doesn't emerge, and I have to rewrite the dang thing over again. Consider this a draft 3.5... story remains the same, but is executed a bit differently.
(Also, if you've followed me in the past, part of the reason why I'm changing Celestia's character is in some respects the same reason why I took "One Duck of a Day" down. It gets too offensive to move on.)
