    I'm Back, Sort Of

Totally sorry for the long delay, but I'm back as well as my husband. We are currently working together to systematically go through each of our stories and do rewrites for the ones we feel need it most and continue the ones that we've decided is fine as is despite planning rewrites for them earlier. Our first pick, one of his, is taking a bit longer than planned as we are looking over it and

    H2O Haitus

So yeah, it's on Hiatus for the time being. Nope, not because I am abandoning the story or anything. Just because I want to watch season 2 of Mermaid Adventures and wait until Friendship games to come out to see how things play out there. I have a few episodes watched of MA so far, and it really won't take long to finish it, but the problem is I just don't have a lot of time right now. And the

    Plot Bunnies

So yeah, I have plot bunnies and the damn things are multiplying faster than I can keep up with writing ideas down or discussing them with friends or my fiancé. I like writing them down and making scenes as ways to kill boredom, stress and give teasers of possible future stories and see how people react to them. My fiancé actually does something similar though he hasn't been in much of a mood to

    Windows 10

So, Windows 10 is coming out at the end of the month. That's a good thing, right? Then why does it have to be so hard to decide if we should upgrade to it or not? My fiancé says it is a bad idea because he claims to have heard that after the first year that they going to start charging a yearly licensing fee just like the pulled with Office. Ha, screw you MS, we have an older Office! And of

H2O: Just Add Friendship! · 11:17pm Jun 5th, 2015

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is owned by Hasbro.
The H2O series is owned by ZDEF and 2DF.Enterprises.

The pictures in this blog and some marked entries come from the free promotional media kit that can be found: (Website) (Direct Link)
The information from the wiki was taken from here: (Wiki)

I don't own any of the stuff I write here, and if you are here reading this and believe I do, you really need to get your head examined. No offense.

There is a somewhat large amount of information concerning the H2O series coming your way as I set up the background of H2O: Just Add Friendship. I will be trying to go over the important bits to introduce those of you wonderful people and ponies to the awesome world of H2O and set up what elements will be included in my story. Many of the images as well as some of the information in this blog comes from the Media Kit provided by ZDEF Entertainment. Some sections will be repeated word for word as it appears in the Media Kit.

H2O: Mermaid Adventures (Animated Remake of H2O: Just Add Water)

One summer evening in Dolphin City, Rikki, Emma and Cleo go out on a diving expedition with their pal Lewis; but their motorboat breaks down near the mysterious volcanic Island of Mako, and they have to spend the night there. While exploring the island at night, the three girlfriends discover a natural pool in an open-air grotto under the volcano, and cannot resist bathing in the turquoise waters. The full moon appears overhead; the water bubbles around them and three quite ordinary teenage girls fall under a strange spell that changes their lives. From now on, whenever water splashes Emma, Cleo and Rikki, they are transformed into mermaids. As if they didn’t have enough problems already just being teenagers!
Half-fish, half-girl – a monster straight out of a freak show … !! No one must know about it, especially their parents. But it’s not so easy keeping this secret. Especially when just getting wet instantly turns you into a mermaid! Before the trip to Mako, Emma was a champion swimmer – now she’s completely given up pools. Cleo is an animal caretaker at the Oceanic Center, and now she has to be extremely careful (not her strong point!). And as for Rikki, her rebellious character tempts her to blurt out everything.
But being a mermaid is not just a mega-complication, it’s also extremely cool. You can swim like a dolphin, breathe underwater and cover huge distances in record time. And you feel amazing in the water, it’s like all your worries disappear.
And most incredible of all, the three girls have special magic powers, all involving water: Cleo can move water around and turn it into any shape or form. She can make water jump out of a glass, create a huge wave, or even a snake shape to fill up a tunnel! Rikki can make water boil – under water, to ward off a hammerhead shark, or on land to create a sauna in a classroom. And Emma’s power is to turn water into ice: a wall, snowflakes, or huge blocks.
The only person who knows their secret is their best friend Lewis, who was with them on Mako Island. This little genius accompanies them on their adventures, and is always helping with scientific discoveries and inventions – and he’s secretly in love with Cleo …
Underwater, they make friends with Bernie the hermit crab. Bernie is their friend, he comes on to dry land to warn them what’s going on. And sometimes he gets into trouble with the Vandal Gang – Murray the Moray, Danny the Octopus and Burke the Hammerhead shark – who are trying to dominate the bay and throw out the mermaids.
Endless situations and missions draw the three friends into the incredible underwater world: discovering the wreck of the White Mermaid galleon; saving an injured turtle; looking for a lost ring; Cleo sabotaging a rival’s attempts to win Lewis over to her; rescuing a drowning surfer … (The preceding was taken from the Media Kit.)

While H2O: Just Add Friendship uses the backdrop of this series, a lot of the events of Seasons 1 & 2 of H2O: Just Add Water will be included in my story, albeit a bit out of order. Just try to enjoy the story for what it is and don’t try to work out a timeline for the H2O series as meshing them together will make things run out of sync anyways.

H2O: Just Add Water

Season 1
The first series revolves around Emma Gilbert, Cleo Sertori and Rikki Chadwick, who are given the power to turn into mermaids. They discover their amazing powers over water - Cleo can control the shape and volume of water, Emma can freeze it, and Rikki can boil it. Lewis McCartney, a friend of Cleo - and later of the three of them, helps them from being exposed. These series is mostly about Rikki, Emma and Cleo learning to use their powers and dealing with everyday problems, such as pesky siblings. Cleo meets an old lady, Louise Chatham, who was a mermaid in her past and who warns her, Emma and Rikki from the full moon. Zane Bennett is trapped at Louise's sinking boat and Emma has to save him. Zane sees a half of her tail and looks everywhere near Mako Island for the "sea monster". Zane sees Emma as a mermaid, but he didn't recognize her because she had red hair. Rikki and Zane become a couple. At the end of the season, Zane helps Dr. Denman capture the mermaids. Zane finds out who the mermaids really are and he rescues them with Lewis' help. During the lunar eclipse, the girls lose their powers, only for twelve hours, but it was enough for Dr. Denman to lose interest in them.

Season 2
A full moon in conjunction with a rare planetary alignment calls the girls to the moon pool at Mako Island where their powers and abilities are greatly augmented and strengthened to higher power levels. The second season revolves around the arrival of a new girl, Charlotte Watsford, who moves into the area and develops an instant attraction to Lewis. After Charlotte sees a film of her grandmother Gracie Watsford as a mermaid she meets Max Hamiltonwho was once romantically involved with Gracie. Happy to have met his lover's granddaughter he tells her about the previous mermaids and of Mako Island. Charlotte travels to the moon pool during a full moon and becomes the fourth mermaid in possession of all the girls' powers and abilities. Believing herself superior as the one "true mermaid" she and the girls become sworn enemies. This conflict results in a confrontation, during an especially strong and powerful full moon, which ends with Charlotte being permanently stripped of her mermaid powers, abilities, and mermaid form. The girls also have romantic entanglements. Cleo breaks up with Lewis for being too clingy and protective after which he dates Charlotte. Rikki and Zane start dating again after breaking up during the series one finale. Emma meets Ash Dove and flirts with him but he is frustrated by the secrets she constantly holds back. She eventually relents and tells him that she is a mermaid. Torn because of the conflict between his friends and Charlotte, Lewis comes to the conclusion that his loyalties lie with the girls and with Cleo in particular. He breaks up with Charlotte and begins dating Cleo again.

While I love the animated series, I kind of prefer the live action series H2O: Just Add Water’s version of how the girls became mermaids and will be using it in my story. Also, many of the events of this series will be included in my story despite have the animated series’ backdrop.

Mako Mermaids: An H2O Adventure

Zac is a teenage boy who decides to camp on Mako Island, unaware that three mermaids, Lyla, Nixie and Sirena, who are guardians of the island, are watching him. That night, when the full moon rises, the boy comes into contact with the magic water of the Moon Pool. The following morning, Zac discovers that he has the ability to control and manipulate water. Later, after accidentally falling into the water, he finds that he has also become a merman with a fish-like tail. His new-found merman abilities will cause problems for the mermaids.
The three mermaids, curious about living on land and motivated to remove Zac's merman powers, venture onto the land and learn to live among humans. (The preceding was taken from the wiki.)

While this series is awesome, none of the characters will really be involved in my story. I will be giving their powers as well as an extra one the principal mentioned, healing with water, to Sunset. The other girls won’t have some of Sunset’s powers, but she will have the powers from this series which include the girls’ powers.

Mako Island

Dolphin City, Good~bye Canterlot

Dolphin City is Sunset’s new home, and along with Mako Island, will be the location for most of my story. Unlike the live action series, many of the names have been changed for the locations for the animated series. The JuiceNet Café is now the Juicy Bar and the Marine center is now known as the Oceanic Center. For my story I will be going by the names of the animated series as well as the looks of the locations and the character designs. Rikki makes a better redhead than a blonde anyways!

H2O Main Characters

Cleo Sertori
Her volunteer job at the Oceanic Center is more than a hobby – it’s her dream.
Cleo Sertori is timid, intuitive and wants to become a vet for marine animals when she grows up. Her weakness is that she’s sometimes too shy, even to the point of blocking her ability to respond. She laughs and cries easily. For Cleo, becoming a mermaid is like a pendulum that swings between being “the most totally amazing thing that could ever have possibly happened” and sometimes it’s a horrible punishment she didn’t do anything to deserve. It depends on the day and what’s happening around her. Cleo finds it almost impossible to think ahead.
Her father is a coast-guard. Her little sister Kim can be a pest sometimes, and even tries to turn Emma’s brother Elliot against the girls. Lewis has a big crush on her and she likes Lewis too, but – as she says to herself – as a brother. She gets insanely jealous when another girl takes up too much of Lewis’ time. (Preceding is taken from the Media Kit.)

Cleo’s Powers
Cleo possesses the ability to transform into a mermaid ten seconds after touching water. She wasn't able to transform into a mermaid until an estimate of twelve hours after jumping into the Moon Pool at Mako Island. She turns back into a human several minutes after climbing out of the water and once her body is completely dry, she turns back into a human along with the clothes she was wearing before she transformed. As a mermaid, Cleo has the ability to swim at super speed of 600km/h, hold her breath for more than fifteen minutes, and dive at a depth lower than any ordinary human being is capable of.
Hydrokinesis, Cleo is the first of the three mermaids to discover her individual powers over water; the ability to control, manipulate water at her will, normally called Hydrokinesis. Her ability ranges in many forms. When moving the water, she can cause it to float in the air or spray it in a form of a water jet blast. To shape them, she manipulated the water into the air and cause them to form from simple water orbs to a miniature mermaid figurine. Her powers also allow her to multiply the water molecules, making the shape of the water to grow more and expand in sizes, despite the small amount in a glass to begin with. With this power, Cleo can control, manipulate, multiply and generate water and all other liquids that contain water.
Aerokinesis, in the second season premiere "Control", a special full moon along with a rare planetary alignment greatly strengthens and increases her powers to a much more powerful level. In Cleo's case, she develops the ability to create and control the wind. She can also control rainstorms and create them over a person or a large area.
When combined with Emma and Rikki's powers, she can produce hurricane-like weather. (The preceding was taken from the wiki.)

While this is actually from the live action series H2O: Just Add Water, the powers is the same as in the cartoon as they are in season 1 of the live action series. In my story she will have all of these powers. Cleo is also paired with Lewis McCartney in my story for all you Clewis fans!

Emma Gilbert
It was swimming! She was a championship swimmer. It’s really tough for her that she can’t do it anymore. She sometimes feels bad about it. She likes sports: beach volleyball for example.
Emma Gilbert is logical, mature and a perfectionist. She likes doing things well, and completing them. She’s reliable and meticulous. Sometimes she gets obsessive about what she’s doing and can even forget her friends for her studies or her interests. But she never forgets to look after her little brother Elliot, and when decisions need to be made, she’s right there to take the lead.
Becoming a mermaid exacts a heavy toll on Emma, since she was a dedicated swimmer before her fateful expedition to Mako Island. Her achievements in competitions promised her a future as a champion. Now it’s impossible to plunge into a pool without turning into a mermaid … and so Emma no longer goes near one. Though she misses swimming terribly, she pretends to have gotten over it. What she can’t get over with is her massive crush on Byron, the handsome surfer dude. (Taken from the Media Kit.)

Emma’s Powers
Emma possesses the ability to transform into a mermaid ten seconds after physical contact of water. She turns back into a human several minutes after climbing out of the water and once her body is completely dry, she turns back into a human along with the clothes she was wearing before she transformed. As a mermaid, Emma has the ability to swim at super speed of 600km/h, hold their breath for more than fifteen minutes, and possibly dive at a depth lower than any ordinary human being.
Hydro-Cryokinesis, Emma is the second mermaid to discover her individual powers over water: the ability to freeze water. Her ability can cause things to become brittle enough for her to break, such as an electronic lock. She can freeze an entire person and put them into stasis lock or render them immobile by freezing only their wet suits. With Cleo’s power, Emma can create ice sculptures or ice-orbs, but it would eventually melt or shatter. At first, it implies that she could only freeze things with water over it. But several times in season one, Emma was able to freeze, cool, and lock objects with her powers without the aids of water. This could imply that she can freeze the small water molecules around those dry objects. With this power, Emma can freeze water and all other liquids to freezing temperatures literally to absolute zero.
Cryokinesis, in the second season premiere "Control", a special full moon along with a rare planetary alignment greatly strengthens and increases her powers to much more powerful levels. Emma’s new mermaid power is Cryokinesis, the power to create, generate, manipulate and control ice, snow, sleet and hail at will and also control clouds. It allows her to freeze any object without water, even freezing an entire room. When incombination with Cleo and Rikki's advanced powers, she can create unusually strong electric storms and levitate a person. It is shown that she can explode ice, too, in the episode when they were practicing their powers in the moon pool with the balloon penguin. With this power, Emma also can create, control and manipulate ice, snow and hail at will. (The preceding was taken from the wiki.)

As Cleo, Emma’s powers are the same as well despite this wiki entry coming from the live action series. Emma will be paired with Byron, so sorry Ash fans.

Rikki Chadwick
Biking and extreme sports, Rikki Chadwick is a rebel who’ll try anything and not even think of the risks. She takes on adolescence like a mountaineer takes on a peak: directly, with force and determination. Rikki loves challenges and battles … She always goes where others dare not, always does what others don’t do, and sets herself apart from the herd, from society. For her, becoming a mermaid is an unbelievable stroke of luck. Now she’s really different! And she’s planning to make the most of it.
She lives alone with her father in a mobile home. He works in construction. Her mother died when she was much younger, and Rikki is very faithful to the memory of her mum. Her dad is interested in finding someone else, and meets Cathy, whom Rikki mistrusts at first. Zane is very interested in Rikki, and likes her toughness. Rikki is not indifferent to Zane, but neither is she blind to his vanity and bullying, and gives him a very hard time when she wants to. (The preceding was taken from the Media Kit, though for the story Rikki’s dad will be a day laborer for construction which is an unsteady job. At times he will have steady work, and others he will o days without work making things harder than usual on the pair.)

Rikki’s Powers
Rikki possesses the ability to transform into a mermaid ten seconds after physical contact of water. She turned back into a human several minutes after climbing out of the the water and once her body was completely dry, she turned back into a human along with the clothes she was wearing before she transformed. As a mermaid, Rikki has the ability to swim at super speed of 600km/h, hold their breath for more than fifteen minutes, and possibly dive at a depth lower than any ordinary human being.
Hydro-Thermokinesis, Rikki is the last of the three to discover her individual power over water which bothers her tremendously. She possesses the ability to boil water. This power could apply with anything containing liquid, ranging from human skin and body temperature to even the water molecules in the air. She has demonstrated this by melting Miriam, when she was accidentally frozen by Emma, when she locked the freezer on her. It is revealed that she could even make people sweat. Because her powers deal with heat, it means that she possesses the most volatile and dangerous of all three. Throughout the series, we discover that her power can easily get out of control. Her power is most useful when the girls need to dry their tails faster. With this power, Rikki can superheat and boil water and all other liquids to scalding temperatures.
Pyrokinesis, in the second season, and the first episode Control, Cleo, Emma and Rikki are attracted to the moon pool during a rare and special planetary alignment. This alignment increases her powers, becoming very powerful. Cleo is capable of controlling the air currents and winds. Emma is able to control ice and snow can freeze an entire room in seconds. Rikki is able to create and control fire to its will. With this power, Rikki can control, manipulate and generate fire from the air, creating fire balls, burn things.. etc.
Electrokinesis, due to this rare planetary alignment, Rikki also gained the ability to control and call a lightning from the sky, as well as control the electrical power. (The preceding was taken from the wiki.)

Surprise, surprise, yet again Rikki’s powers are the same. For all those Zikki lovers out there, this will be a Zane and Rikki story.

Sunset Shimmer
Come on, you all know who Sunset Shimmer is, do you really need to know about her or see a picture? Seriously dude, like seriously? –Motor Ed reference for those who didn’t know, like seriously. (Caution, previous reference may or may not be misquoted, deal with it. Like seriously.)

Damn it, fine, here is a pic of Sunset Shimmer! Are you happy now? Are ya? Well, I know I am, this is freakin’ awesome! Pic is over at Deviant Art and is done by Didj, check out their work!

Sunset Shimmer’s Powers
Invisibility, well Sunset can become invisible. Though for the sake of the story it’s much easier to do when staying still and takes an enormous amount of concentration to move while maintining the power.
Hydrokinesis, Sunset can control water in any form which is basically Cleo’s power.
Hydro-Thermokinesis, basically Rikki’s power.
Siren Singing, Sunset’s singing voice has become even better and if she knows certain songs she can use them to get people to do what she wants. And no she isn’t going to abuse that power so don’t even go there damn it!
Telekinesis, the ability to manipulate and move things with her mind.
Atmokinesis, the ability to create and control storms and weather to some degree. The more powerful a mermaid, the larger scale this can be used. Normally it is pretty low scale.
Hydro-Cryokinesis, the ability to freeze water.
Healing, by using sea water, Sunset can heal a person of nearly any wound at the cost of taking on a fraction of their pain though not the injury itself.

The above list of powers actually comes from Sirena’s powers from the wiki except for the Hydro-Cryokinesis which is Emma’s power and the healing. The healing comes from a mention of it being possible from the principal in Mako Mermaids.

*A quick note about all pf the girls’ powers, even though it isn’t mentioned and they can’t understand other sea-life in the live action, for my story they can just like they do in the animation. It will kind of give them the side effect of avoiding seafood. And finally, if the girls actually see the full moon it will have differing effects on them and make them feel as if they need to go to Mako Island. While Cleo, Emma and Rikki have gotten it pretty much under control, Sunset Shimmer is still pretty new at being a mermaid and it will affect her the most.

Lewis McCartney
Inventing things, scientific research. Lewis McCartney is a little genius, the kind of guy who surfs the school program effortlessly and wraps up his homework before everyone else. As a result, he comes across as someone who makes no effort. His career dream is to become an inventor and researcher in robotics. Although he’s top of the class, he’s not a nerd and the butt of every joke of his classmates: quite the opposite. He’s a good-looking boy, he knows how to send back a joke, and he’s not afraid of Zane, although he finds him exasperating.
Lewis is the only person outside the trio of our heroes who knows about the spell over them. When he first discovered his friends’ new condition, his enthusiastic and fascinated reaction helped Cleo, Emma and Rikki to accept themselves.
Lewis has never regarded them as freaks, but rather as a new stage in human evolution. He’s the one who does research on mermaids, analyzes the water of Mako Island, and follows the lunar cycle to see if there’s a way to reverse the transformation process. He also takes part in all the adventures that our mermaids get involved in. Lewis is thus a kind of guardian angel for them. He’s the calm, faithful, respectful friend, without any kind of vanity and with a great sense of humor that girls just love. (The preceding was taken from the Media Kit.)

First, let me say that no Lewis is not a merman for those who aren’t too familiar with the story of H2O. And unlike the animation, Zane also knows about their secret though he didn’t learn about it until season 1 was almost finished. And for the purpose of this story, Byron will eventually find out as there is no Ash in my story and Emma and Byron will be a couple, they aren’t in the beginning. For now they are just good friends and he doesn’t know.

Secondary Characters

Zane Bennett
Zane Bennett is the rich, local "bad boy", who is the son of a prominent businessman, Harrison Bennett. In fact, his family is even richer than Emma's family. Zane and his father have a very shaky relationship leading to most of Zane's seemingly obnoxious frustrations. His pranks are the reason the girls turned into mermaids on Mako Island in the first place. He is one of the few people who are aware of the mermaids' secrets. He falls deeply in love with Rikki. (The preceding was taken from the wiki for the live action H2O: Just Add Water.)

Miriam Kent
Miriam is a popular girl and antagonist of the mermaids. She has always wanted to be the center of attention and would do anything to get there. Her attempts at mischief often ended badly for her, sometimes dangerously as when she was accidentally frozen by Emma in an attempt to get her and Rikki fired. She and Zane dated for some time, but their attraction was apparently one sided. (The preceding was taken from the wiki for the live action H2O: Just Add Water.)

Byron
Byron is the handsome surfer. He’s cool, ecologically minded, easy- going, unruffled, laid back … Girls love him, and guys try to emulate him. Emma is head-over-heels for him. He’s not an ace at school, however – it’s just not his thing. (The preceding was taken from the Media Kit.)

Zita
The inquisitive eel, is always curious about what’s happening. She’s a terrible gossip, so if you want to know the latest news, just ask her.

Carlotta
The diva-jellyfish, is an amazing singer, a born musical talent. Highly strung, very touchy and easily offended, she is also very kind and considerate.

Teddy
The kid turtle, just wants to have fun. He gets bored when there is no one to play with. Sometimes he makes up stories to play tricks on people and then gets into trouble.

Sue
The mystical manta ray. Sue is of an unknown age and knows all the secrets of the deep.

The “Vandal Gang”
Murray the Moray eel is their leader. He’s a bad guy, but can do nothing without his buddies. Danny the Octopus has a stutter and is also extremely vain. He thinks he’s a star. Burke the Hammerhead Shark has very little brain and even less vocabulary.

*There is also the great octopus of the deep that never speaks, and sometimes is a danger for the mermaids. But they’ve also called on the octopus for help once. The octopus is bored all alone.

Other Characters

-Mayor Kent: Miriam’s father.

-Lambert: Director of the Oceanic Center.

-The girls’ physical education and sports coach.

-The school’s biology professor.

- Donald Sertori: Cleo and Kim’s father who works for the Coast Guard.

-Kim Sertori: Cleo’s little sister who for awhile was a brat, though in my story she is trying to become a better person.

-Elliot Gilbert: Emma’s little brother who adores his big sister.

-Jeff: The marine life caretaker for the Oceanic Center.

-Harrison Bennett: Zane’s father who is a wealthy doctor and prominent business man.

Bernie
Bernie the hermit crab is a little fellow who can be characterized by his expression “It always happens to me!” He has a plastic toy car for a shell and a kind of Alladin’s cave full of treasures for a home. He sees himself as the General of the underwater world and has authority over the whole underwater community (except the Vandals).
Bernie is the essential link with the girls and, through them, with the world of humans. When something goes wrong underwater, he comes and finds the girls. Let’s say they all have a common duty to protect and restore the harmony and safety of the Bay.
Being a hermit crab, he can change shell. When the girls first find him on the beach, he has no shell, so they find him a little toy car. Bernie’s enemies are the Vandal Gang (Murray the Moray eel, Danny the Octopus and Burke the Hammerhead shark), who take pleasure in persecuting him and dislike his friendship with their sworn enemies, the mermaids.

The Twins Ronnie and Bobbie
Ronnie and Bobbie are extremely competitive with each other though they are very close.

My Little Pony & Equestria Girls

So I’ve talked about the H2O side of things, but where does that leave the other side of this story? That remains to be seen as it will pretty much have followed canon up until Sunset Shimmer was expelled. Each of the first chapters will have at least once scene from each of the main Equestria Girls as well as Molestia (what? What do you mean that isn’t spelled right! Oh, sorry, I guess it isn’t. How silly of me.) as well as Celestia and Luna. And of course we can’t leave out our pretty purple princess now can we?
