Species in Equestria:

Species: Ponies
• Earth Ponies – With no wings or horns this race of ponies are seemingly the most simple to the naked eye. However they are very clever, intuitive, and strong willed. Even though they don’t have any special outwards limb or outwards magic beacon, they will always find a way to survive. This race is the hardiest and battle ready. They have built numerous kingdoms and a great empire where everyone is accepted.
• Unicorns – With only a horn this race of ponies are trapped on the earth like the Earth Ponies are. However their horns placed on their foreheads act as a beacon to control their magic. They are the most naturally intelligent and bright. They are also the second species to learn to control magic and spells with ease. They are commonly called upon whenever a spell or magic is needed.
• Pegasi – With only wings this race of ponies are able to soar in the sky and are the only Pony race to be able to walk on clouds. Also a few clans control the weather when needed, but the weather is usually left up to nature. A few Ponies of this race can fly at near supersonic speed and are able to break the sound barrier. However most Ponies of this race serve as aerial guards and warriors and quest ponies for their clans.
• Alicorns – Now this race of ponies are the most rare and powerful. Little is common knowledge about this race, but whenever one appears they are beacons for great power. With two Alicorn sisters ruling all of Equestria, those living under their rein hardly have to worry about harm coming their way. It has been rumored that Alicorns can be naturally born, however this is unknown.
• Batpony – This race is an infected race, but isn’t inherently evil or dangerous. Any Pony race can become a Batpony, however they will only have large leathery wings in the end. They are notable for their large tufted ears, large golden eyes, and fangs. Batponies tend to be a darker color than most races, but they can be any normal color, just dulled down a little.

Species: Allied
• Griffins – With the forequarters of a bird of prey and the hindquarters of lion they are somepony you do not want to mess with. With a powerful beak and claws they make great warriors and guards for those who need a little extra muscle to protect themselves. They are Carnivores, but mainly stick to eating woodland animals. Griffins are naturally gold hoarders and are often tasked to protect the gold belonging to their clans. They also usually form their own clans or join up with Pegasi clans.
• Sphinx – With the body of a lion and the head of a Pony they are often confused with being hybrids. However they can have naturally occurring wings and have no need to mix with Ponies. Like Griffins they eat meat, but they can also eat plants. Sphinxes are very knowledgeable like Unicorns and have a great sense of adventure like Earth Ponies. They are commonly quest seeking Beings and are often met in roadside villages and towns. They also are engineers and are responsible for building most of the structures in Equestria.
• Minotaur – With the legs of a Pony and the upper body of a bull this Being is incredibly strong. They are often the muscle of clans and the strongest warriors. However most of this race prefer to stay out in the wilds or in their own clans because of their hot-blooded nature. They are omnivores, but prefer a more meatier diet.

Species: Hybrids
• Kirins – This Being is the product of a Dragon and a Pony mating. While they are uncommon, they are not unheard of. Most of the time Kirins will take more after their Dragon parent with having scales covering their entire bodies. All Kirins have razor sharp teeth and claws. Some keep their claws together like a false hoof. They also cannot have a cutie mark because of their hybrid blood. Depending on their Dragon parent they can also have the abilities passed down from them. Some can breathe fire, some can breathe underwater, some can use magic, some can fly, etc. Now the Kirin diet is most interesting. They are omnivores, but they also have quite the taste for gems.
• Feonies – This Being is the product of a Griffin or a Sphinx and a Pony mating. They are the most common hybrid and share a good mixture of both parents. What they look like is often up to how the genetics mixed in the womb. Some can look more like their Being parent or more like their Pony parent. They are omnivores and can eat just about anything. Cutie marks are able to appear in them, but it is left up to genetics and if they have more Pony blood than Being blood.

Species: Dangerous
• Dragons – While not all Dragons are mean and vicious, it is highly advised to watch your back around them. They are carnivores and will eat anything they find appetizing. It is also advised to never go around a dragon’s den or hoard and to never trespass on their territory without good intentions. Most dragons restrain themselves to small bands living high up in the mountains. Some also live solitary lives. Now it is possible to befriend and even court a male or female dragon. It is advised to gain their trust and prove to them you mean no harm. Once befriended Dragons are immensely loyal and will protect you at all costs. They are even more loyal and protective if you are seeing courtship with them. While it is possible for a Pony to carry a Kirin embryo it is advised to have a permanent strengthening charm placed upon you.
• Manticores – It is best you avoid these at all costs. They are very hostile and unable to be reasoned with. If you ever find yourself fighting one, either try your best or run in the other direction and hope they don’t find you.
• Chimeras – They are like dragons. Not all of them are mean and vicious, but it is best you avoid them and give them their space. They can be reasoned with and even befriended, but this is hard and not for the faint of heart. Chimeras like their space and are solitary creatures.
• Cockatrice – Do not look into the eyes of this scaly bird unless you want to lose your life. You can befriend them if you can stand up against their gaze. Some Beings and even Ponies keep them as guardian pets, but this is dangerous since they have minds of their own. However those who can prove themselves to be their leaders, they make brilliant pets. Their eggs are highly valuable.
• Draconequus – Now they are peskier than they are dangerous. The majority of Beings from this Species have a natural sense of chaos magic and love to cause mischief whenever they can. However they usually stick with members of their own species. Individuals have been befriended and integrated into common culture, but they have to be taught to control their magic and taught manners.

Notable clans in Equestria:
• Clan of the Silver Wings – Highly diverse in Beings, this clan only accepts winged beings among their citizenship. With numerous cities, towns, and villages this clan’s territory spans a vast amount of Equestria. Under the rein of Hedrick Goldencoat and his family this clan has thrived for many eras. With a strong warrior army and fast flying Beings, they are a force to be reckoned with. Allied with the Clan of the Light Mages and the Clan of the Thunder Hooves.
• Clan of the Light Mages – Highly diverse in Beings with magic abilities, this clan accepts any Being willing to learn light and positive side of the arcane arts. They are ruled by Parable and Lady Hestia Spiralhorn family. With numerous cities and towns this clan territory is large and boarders with the Clan of the Silver Wings. With a natural friendship with the Goldencoat family their alliance with the Clan of the Silver Wings is strong. They are allied with the Clan of the Silver Wings and the Clan of the Thunder Hooves. A thing to note is they have no tolerance for any Being who practices Dark magic and believes in the Dark Mages.
• Clan of the Thunder Hooves – Diverse in the simple Beings, this clan accepts just about any Being who is willing to work hard. Their land is vast and boarders the Clan of the Silver Wings. They are the work force of Equestria and the brute strength. Noted for their vast warrior army and protective traits they are willing to fight for anything they deem worthy. Ruled by Dogwood Thunderhooves he is a great leader and a force to be reckoned with. They are allied with the Clan of the Silver Wings and the Clan of the Light Mages.
• Clan of the Dark Mages – With no real territory or leader to call their own, any member of this Clan is readily hated by any Being. They practice dark magic and aren’t afraid to kill for their own greedy wants and needs.
