MLP Reviews Season 5 Episode 8:Lost Treasure of Griffonstone
When, I first heard about this episode, I knew that it was going to be good. It starts Pinkie Pie, my favorite pony out of the mane six, how could I not like it. So, let’s see.
What I Liked
I rather enjoyed a few aspects of the episode. One: I liked how the lost treasure wasn’t the physical treasure. It was a repaired friendship. Two: Pinkie Pie, no questioning it. Three: I liked how this took Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie out of their elements. Meaning Rainbow dash couldn’t use her flight while Pinkie was in a place where there are no parties, no cake, and no fun at all. Yet, this is where the episode shines at, but more on that in Characters who shine. Four: We get to see a returning character once more. *Spoiler Alert* It’s Gilda. I really enjoyed the flashback we got with her character. Makes her character a bit more interesting.
What I didn't like?
I don’t think there wasn’t a moment that I disliked. I think that it was a great episode, but there was one thing that threw me off. It was the greedness of the griffons. They kept asking for bits for every single thing.
Moral/Theme
Well, I am sure the theme of this week’s episode is no matter how much someone becomes lost, friendship will guild the way home.
Character who shines the most:
Well, this is a first, but we have a three way….

Tie, Three way tie. Gees people, get your minds out of the gutter.
Anyways, the three way tie for this episode goes to Rainbow Dash, Gilda, and Pinkie Pie.
Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash get in this spot because they were out of their element in this episode. This worked really well as it wasn’t another vs. debate where the two characters are at odds with one another due to a situation. I am glad Pinkie was the one to come with a solution to the problem. I knew when the story of the lost treasure was over; it wasn’t going to cure the griffons of their pride. Pinkie would know a lot about it, due to her own experiences with it. Gilda also places on her since she went through a great change with helping Rainbow Dash out.
Character (s) who shines the least:
The griffons were mostly the same. I understand that the greediness of the griffons is more than a dragon, but it still doesn’t work for me.
Conclusion
I thought this episode was great. Okay, I have one little bit of a complain when Rainbow Dash suddenly changed her mood when Gilda went to save her. Rainbow Dash immediately warms up to Gilda, which probably shouldn’t have happened in that fashion. I felt there should have been more to it, but I will take what I can get.
Rating: 9.6 out of 10.

Slice of Life. Huh, strange title for an episode, but I don’t care, it’s all about the background ponies preparing for a wedding. I wonder who is getting married this time…. I am just kidding I know who it is….
Anyways, before I go, I think I want to make a bet with myself. I have said that currently, “Tanks for the Memories”, is the least favorite episode of Season 5 and will stay in that spot all season long. Let’s put my writing skills where my mouth is.
Counting the Premiere episode or the Finale as one whole episode, I have decided to create a top 24 list for Season 5. If “Tanks for the Memories,” stays on the 24th, 23rd, or 22nd spot, then I win the bet. If it is ranked 21 or higher, then I lose the bet.
What happens if I lose the bet is up to you guys. Yea, I said it, its up to everyone to decide what happens if I lose. There will be rules, so keep an eye out. I want to see who is interested in deciding what I do if I lose, but it will have to be about writing something. I will tell the rules later.
Until the next episode, which funny enough comes out the week I come back from a trip.
