Blob of the Ball; My Review of "Make New Friends but Keep Discord"

Hey, all! Welcome to another review of “My Little Pony”! In this review, I will cover "Make New Friends but Keep Discord". As I have discussed before, I will lay out the standards of my reviews. If you just want to skip to the break below, feel free by all means. Here are my standards:
• How in-depth I will go into the episode will vary on the impression it made.
• I may refer to stuff almost related to the show. It depends on what I’m reminded of in the episode.
• Some of the references may be unknown to you guys, so I apologize in advance if anything confuses you. I will do my best to clarify what I mean.
• I will list the pros and cons of each episode and then sum it up.
• The last thing I will do is give the episode one or a mix of the following:
o A letter grade
o A percentage
o A number on a scale of one to ten
• I may skip over select episodes due to a low impression or personal reasons. My apologies in advance to anyone I might offend by skipping over an episode they like.

Shush! You’re ruining my introduction. Discord, master of chaos and disharmony, here. I regret to inform you that KidatHeart5 won’t be reviewing the episode of the week this time, so I fortunately stepped in for her!

Quiet! I’m doing you a favor. At least I didn’t completely freeze you. Now, where were we? Ah, yes. I was going to review my second starring episode.
Second?
Well, “Return of Harmony” counts, doesn’t it? Alright, tell me: who did you guess would be Fluttershy’s date? I hope you say it was me.
At first, when I saw the trading card leak, I thought it would be Maud.
Maud? Who would’ve thought Maud wanted to go?
Apparently, no one. When I looked at the animatic again, I had a sneaking suspicion that the pony with Fluttershy was the same one in a piece of concept art. Turns out I was right.
Oh, goody…They decided to show Tree Hugger before the episode. How nice.
Hey, at least your voice actor spread that rumor about your jealousy. Shouldn’t that be enough for you?
I suppose you’re right. Moving along. I’m sure many of you fans spotted some references during the episode. There was one from Dumb and Dumber, the box from the Minecraft game, my comedy act outfits, and of course, my favorite, the chaos symbol on my cane.
It suits you rather well, actually. There were also some similarities with a well-known fanfiction, Bride of Discord. Have you heard of it?
Well, I’m sure I’ve read some chapters, but would you care to point them out? In case my memory’s a bit faulty.
My sister’s the one who’s read the whole thing. She pointed out five to six similarities, including one about another Gala like in the story. The one similarity that stands out to me most is how you threatened to banish Tree Hugger to another dimension. It reminded me of “The Relapse”, where you became dangerous again.
Dangerous? Moi? I admit I was a bit emotional…
Try over-reactive.
Oh, fine! So I was overreacting. Thankfully, Fluttershy talked some sense into me.
I honestly thought you were going to cry, though I was praying you wouldn’t.
Please. I could never cry over something so trivial.
I don’t know. I thought this was a pretty big ouch for you.
Oh, that? Nah, that was something like stubbing my toe really hard on something. Trust me, there’s going to be a bigger ouch later. I have a tortoise shell, so I’m not easily breakable.
What about Applejack? She cried when she saw Apple Bloom all dressed up for the Gala. I think it was sort of a mini Eureka release.
Well, if I do…*clears throat* break down, it will the Eureka release to rival them all. The fact that Applejack cried states that she’s not nearly as strong as me.
Oh, how the strong will break this season. I can feel it.
Anyway, how’d you like Smoozy Boy? Quite the charmer, isn’t he?
He does carry a lot of symbolism. For instance, he’s green, like your jealousy, and he’s jelly, a nickname for “jealousy”.
Fine, so I may have subconsciously picked the one that reflected my mood the most. So sue me.
When I saw the animatic for the episode, I could not stop saying “Announcing…the Smooze!” However, after I saw the episode, I found you rants more amusing to recite.
This wouldn’t happen to be during my “cleaning” scene, would it?
Partly, yes. You’re such a fun character and your lines and expressions are very entertaining!
*giggling* Oh, stop. I’m blushing.
I also liked the way you dressed up like Cinderella in rags. I thought you didn’t like that story.
Well, I didn’t say I hated it, did I?
No, not really.
Precisely. And besides, being the Lord of Chaos that I am, I need to keep things in a disorderly order.
*chuckles* No duh. I was so excited to see where you lived for the first time. It really suits you well. You know, it’s really easy to get lost in there.
Hey, it’s complete chaos in there.
I heard you were thinking about moving to Ponyville. Are you really ready to leave the one place where you feel free to be yourself?
Well, I’ve spent a millennium alone as a statue. With Fluttershy as my only friend, I don’t want to be lonely anymore.
That’s a nice thing to say.
Of course, I also want to pull pranks on the fellow residents.
Ah. That makes sense.
However, this doesn’t mean I’m actually moving…more or less.
We’ll see. So, now that you’ve learned about the multiple-friend thing, think you’ll make some more friends other than Fluttershy?
If they’ll have me. You know, I’m not exactly Mister Popular in Equestria, let alone Ponyville.
I’m sure there’s somepony who’ll want to befriend you. What about the Cutie Mark Crusaders?
It’s more or less an on-and-off thing. Sure, they like me most of the time, but when I act rude or they’re in front of their sisters, they’ll act like they don’t even know me.
I don’t think it’ll go on forever. One question: are you going to invite the Smooze to your wedding someday?
Actually, yes.
Well, don’t blame me if he trashes your reception.
I feel like I owe it to…it after my shenanigans at the Gala. I used the poor blob like a plaything. I feel guilty about it.
Let’s hope your future bride permits inviting it.
Don’t worry. I’ll use my charms to convince her. Oops! I almost forgot the pros and cons!
Pros: First and foremost, I’m the star! You get to see my home for the first time. I also learn a new thing about friendship. The girls’ dresses are divine! I could go on, but I wouldn’t be able to list them all.
Cons: The one thing I detest is Fluttershy spending time with Tree Hugger. My invitation was late (thanks, mail pony). My outburst didn’t really help things. Did I mention that my comedy act was a bust?
In short…
It’s “summary”!

In Short: This episode is a classic. A lot of mentioned things are shown for the first time. I learn something new about friendship. I know certain fans will get a kick out of this episode for years to come.
I give this episode 9/10! It could’ve been 10 if Fluttershy had invited me instead.
Then we wouldn’t have this episode.

Haha lol Discord invading your review and you have to speak through your frozen state But why freeze you? Oh well, he's the Lord of Chaos, why question him? Anywho, I love how Discord ranked this episode higher than you dud and his least favorite part was his jealously Squee yay your sister loves Bride of Discord Does your sis ship Fluttercord?
