Okay, seen in several stories, in the descriptions, "tracks" to songs in the story. We can't use lyrics but we can use tracks or links?
I write sins, not tragedies. Patreon so I can continue doing... whatever it is I do.

Yeah I don't get it either. I mean we are writing fanfiction, which is about a property license that we don't own, and yet we can not use lyrics to songs that we don't own. XP
I know that they are worried about copy right, and stuff, and thankfully fanfiction in and of itself is protected by legal right(heck you can even sale fanfiction, just not produce it). I think that what they worry about is people using the entire song in their story, as opposed to a line or two. Thankfully it's not that hard to parody music, and create a pony version. I have rarely used music in my stories, but every now and again I use a parody song. XD
3082456 Wait, by "parody", do you mean completely altering the song, or something as simple as changing, "take my hand" to, "take my hoof"? If this is the case, I've got a lot of music to add.
3083723 if you account for cultural changes along with physical ones then yes you can probably get away with that. An example might be.
"Take me down to paradise city, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty."
into
"Take me down to a pony filled city, where the grass is green and the mares are pretty."
BTW the example above is a guns and roses song... I think.
3083899 I was hoping that'd be the case. I might just ad a link to a YouTube video, though. So the reader can actually hear the song. Emotions are understood better that way.
