Update On Tough · 10:46am May 10th, 2015
So, a little bit of news for all of you waiting on the next chapter of Tough. I don't know how many that is, but that is irrelevant. Technically... the new chapter is finished and (as I'm sure you've all figured out) I am far from a perfectionist. So, you may be asking yourselves, why don't I just upload the new chapter and let you get back to reading?
Because, I am unsatisfied with the first scene in the chapter. I have re-written that scene about twenty times now (no joke) and I still don't like it. I personally don't know exactly what is wrong with it, I just don't like it. So, you can expect the new chapter relatively soon, but I will not be releasing it until I am satisfied with the first scene. If anybody has any suggestions or comments feel free to let me know.
I apologize for the delay, and hope I will be able to fix this scene soon. Thank you all who are following this story and I hope I can continue to entertain you all.
As usual feel free to leave any thoughts, comments, criticisms, and opinions.
That's tough.
3058740 I see what you did there.
I haven't read any of the story yet, (I now only read stories once they're done after being burned too many times) but I may be able to offer some advice regardless.
When I find myself unable to start a chapter, I generally try to tackle the start with another pony's pov.
Another thing is that I try moving the start of the chapter a bit earlier.
EX: you want to start the chapter in the middle of a sleepover at twilight's library/castle at a dramatic moment. Instead of starting at the dramatic moment, start at the beginning of of the sleepover.
Finally, if none of those are possible, ask yourself WHY the opening doesn't work. Is it too rushed? Is someone acting OoC? what is it about the chapter that's bugging you? Find it, address it.
Good luck.
