New Story Idea

I recently read the synopsis for a novel and it sparked an idea in my head. Granted I've never read this novel and I don't plan to as I want my story to follow the basic arc but be significantly different. For now I want to work solely on this idea while its fresh in my mind.

*SPOILERS* This is the story that I read the synopsis of
Flowers for Algernon
*END SPOILERS*

Needless to say you can figure out where I'm probably going to go with this. It will be a Scootaloo centered story. . . and it will make you cry.

The title for the story (Since I suck at titles) Is a bit unoriginal. . . I'll be calling it *SPOILER*'Flowers for Scootaloo'*END SPOILER*

I want to stress that I've not read the book that I'm basing this off of, I'm trying to keep it as different as possible while following similar plotpoints. The characters, setting, and overall arc of the story will be different but the ending and general parts of the arc will be similar. I don't know how long I'm going to make this story but it probably won't be a short one.
