Chapter 5 will be up within nine hours.

I was about to publish it when I remembered that there seems to be a huge difference in the popularity of chapters I put out depending on the time of day. The optimal time seems to be about 8:00 a.m. PST. Right now is close to the least optimal time. I know I said it would take me an extra week at most to get it out, but I forgot about this until it was too late, and I'd really,

    Hey, it's 2016!

Sixteen is one of my favorite numbers. My computer is named after the Ancient Greek word for sixteen—"Hekkaideka". I also happen to be sixteen years old. Wow! That's happened at the start of every year since I was born! What are the chances?

    Heya.

I just want to make sure you know I didn't drop off the face of the Earth again. I recalibrated my navigation equipment, so that shouldn't happen anymore. I figure blogging regularly will help, too, so I'm doing that. Kind of.

That was three weeks? · 4:54pm May 4th, 2015

Goodness gracious, I can't believe it's really that time again. Remember almost six weeks ago (!!) when I said I didn't have a blogging schedule? Now I do. Once every three weeks. This coincidence has officially been promoted. Well, there will be a blog post whenever there isn't a new chapter, and sometimes I'll also post at seemingly random times. So, essentially, things will be the same as always.

It's really been six weeks since I posted chapter 1, huh? I only have a pitiful 1,036 words written of chapter 2 so far. It's not a bad kiloword, but I really wish I had more. Even I'm getting impatient with myself. Oh, wait. I've been impatient with myself for, like, six weeks.

There's been problems. I got sick and stuff. Excuses, excuses. Less than 25 words per day on average for six weeks? There's no excuse for that! I'm going to start writing at home to help catch up until I can publish the chapter, which hopefully won't take another three weeks. As cool as it would be to follow a pattern of spending three weeks on chapter 1, three squared weeks on chapter 2, three cubed weeks on chapter 3, etc., that would also be completely terrible, because, without actually doing the math, I'm guessing that would result in the ending not coming out until long after all of our great-great-great-grandchildren are dead. That isn't quite how I'm envisioning its release, to be perfectly honest. I've got a pretty cool ending planned, I think. I've got a pretty cool story planned. Just let me figure out the choreography of a few dialogue-focused scenes and I'll show it to you. Don't hold your breath; I'm slow as molasses at this.

Oh, yeah, thought I'd mention - Apple of Discord got its first thumbs down! That's one more thing to check off my FIMFiction bucket list. What's left? "Get featured on Equestria Daily"? Maybe I should aim a bit lower for now. "Get featured in the 'Latest Updates' section." Much better.

There's not much more I can say without spoiling anything. I mean, there isn't a whole lot there to spoil, really. Just a little bit of princess slapstick. So, let's hope I didn't forget anything important and talk about non-Apple of Discord stuff. I'll be seeing my doctor about weird brain stuff... in a month. :ajbemused:

And then there's the new season. Golly, it's fantastic! Definitely continuing the upward trend I've observed. It's too early to tell, but it's looking like it could shape up to be even better than season 2, which is - still "is" for now - my favorite. Bloom and Gloom was awesome! I can hardly believe all that happened in just 20 minutes. Also, with all the focus on cutie marks... my troper-sense is tingling. It's just a tenuous hunch, but we may be in the midst of a story arc that could culminate with the Crusaders getting their marks. I wouldn't be against that. The only thing I'd be against is the show ceasing to be awesome. I do wonder what it would mean for the trio, though.

P.S. This blog post is over half as long as what I have of chapter 2 so far? Oh, for Pete's sake.

P.P.S. Sorry for sounding like a maniac in my last post. I literally was a maniac, I think, so I get a pass, right?

I have been busy anyway; I will be able to read the next chapter without feeling guilty for it since it has been a little bit "delayed". Don't keep your story to yourself for too long though, it is not very nice not to share. :raritywink:

More seriously, I look forward to read more of it, but I will be patient (since I don't have a choice :scootangel: ).

Also, it's nice to know that you'll be seeing a doctor, even though it will be in a month (I don't have any reproaches to make about that, I am the first one to postpone medical appointments, and I am a medical student).

And I agree about the new season being fantastic! I like the 6th episode less than the others though. Maybe I will like it more after a while, it happens sometimes.

3044055 Yeah, I wasn't quite feeling it in episode 6, either. I think it was the way everything seemed to go right for the Crusaders. That only became evident as the cause after some pondering, though. But, hey, it wasn't a bad episode.

By the way, thanks for sticking around even though all I've done since you found my story is delay chapter 2 and make myself sound like a nutcase in blog posts. It's inspiring to know that a chapter and a half of my writing was enough to garner such support. I'll continue to do my best to deserve it.

You are very welcome, what I have read is worth sticking around, and although writing is enjoyable, I imagine it is also very nice to know that it is appreciated.
And nutcases are best writers, and best artists in general. And sometimes even best scientists. :scootangel:
