Can someone please tell me? I know what the proportion of likes to dislikes, favorites, read later, views, total views, and all of that other stuff for stories. But what are ratings?!? I honestly have no idea what they are and I'm hoping someone can clarify this. It's just that I've been looking at the FAQ for the 40th(?) time now and was looking at how featured stories are selected. My stories haven't been featured in a while so I just wanted to see what made them get on the box before. So, in all, what the hell are ratings? If any of you can clarify this for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

By the way I don't know the answer to your question but if you want to get a featured story write a really good one shot or few chapters at once and then hope people will check out your other fics and watch you. Not writing from any sort of survey just from experience. I often check the pages of really good writers for more fics.
Edit: I've noticed a lot of the fics in the feature box are shorter stories (besides the two slots at the end)

Ratings are thumbs up vs thumbs down ration. It's out of a 100%.
E.g. If you 10 thumbs, 5 up, 5 down, your story is rated 50% or 5/10 or 2.5/5
if you want i could take a look at the faq granted i have no clue how to get to it but maybe with two people puzzling it out it might make sense?

That's what I meant. The One-shots take up the first three usually, I can take that. I just don't understand why my two stories don't appear on the last two anymore. They used to every time I updated with a new chapter.

I'm pretty sure OT means Off Topic. That's the first thing that popped into my head.
As for getting featured, I guess that if a story gets a lot of likes within a certain time span, then it will rise through the ranks to get into the featured box. I guess that dislikes will counteract this. So seeing a new story with about 1 dislike but about 100 likes and it has been up for a few hours, then it will most likely get into the feature box if it can knock off a story already up there.

I gotta keep up with the times. I've never heard someone use "OT" before. Well actually...on Pokemon games, there is that OT but it stands of Original Trainer. Hehe, I don't think it fits in this sense.
Damn these stores with like 300+ like and 3 dislikes. It's hard to write a story and expect it to be in the last two slots at this rate.
