Rewrite of Connect of Two Worlds

I've been seeing some things on my latest story getting a bit of hate and as I look over these things I put in Returns I realized these were just scrapped ideas from the original, so what I'm wondering is should I rewrite this story adding in the plot elements such as the purple core medals, Darth Sunset Shimmer and other events because I feel like I'm writing myself in a hole
