    I’m a Professional Now!

Hey all! It’s been a while, hasn’t it. A lot’s been going on. Drank a lot of tea.

I have officially graduated with an associate’s degree in arts with a focus on writing! Hooray! I have a job as a writing tutor now, and have been editing professionally as a side job for about a year. So, where does that leave my ponyfic proofreading?

    Situation Update

So, as my state comes out of lockdown, I've been able to work on clearing the backlog that I've built up during the pandemic. If I've missed you, send me a quick message and I'll try to help as soon as I can.

    New Job!

I've just gotten a job at my university as a writing tutor! I'm really excited about it and figured I'd share it here. It should also mean more time proofreading, since I don't have to pick up as many hours at my other jobs to cover the gaps.

    Finals end and boredom strikes

So, now that I’m done with finals week, I have plenty of time to work on proofreading over break. The problem is, I finished most of that too. So, if you have something for me to read, by all means, send it now!

Code [Color]! Code [Color]! · 7:22pm Mar 19th, 2015

Well, last week I told myself that if I got up to 8 stories to proofread at once, I would start having a mandatory wait time.

And now I have 8 stories to proofread.

So, starting now and continuing until... sometime, probably when I'm not quite so overwhelmed, there will be a 1-week waiting period for any new chapters/stories that I get. This includes things that I've already gotten, so I won't look at a story/chapter unless it's been sitting in my inbox for a week or more. Hopefully this makes things a bit fairer for everyone, since I don't like ignoring people, but, well, I kind of have to, and in my opinion this is the best way of doing it systematically.

Anyway, this will probably change during spring break when I'll have a lot more time to proofread, which just so happens to be in exactly one week!

Would you like me to start sending a PM whenever I finish a chapter, for a timestamp?

No, that's okay. I know you're several chapters ahead of me in writing the story, so it'll probably be fine. Heck, if I get that far in one week on your story, it probably means that I'm not overwhelmed anymore.

XD So my stuff is gonna just be a constant backlog for you? That's awful, I'm sorry to do so to you :rainbowlaugh:

No, it's just... I... Well, yeah. I've been getting through it at a decent pace, though, so I'm not too worried about it becoming a problem.

2897591 Oh yeah, you've been doing lovely, and I'm sorry for throwing so many words at you at once. Please, if it gets too much, take a break from me, at least. I understand getting burnt out on a story, and I really don't want that to happen.

Oh, and look forward to about 5,000 extra words added in the morning :pinkiehappy:

Well, to be honest I think I have gotten a little burnt out on one story, although it isn't yours. (Cue everyone else I'm proofreading for and following me reading this blog and feeling guilty.)

But seriously though, don't worry about it. If I feel like I'm getting stressed out over your stuff, I'll tell you about it. And then probably spend a day playing Civ 3 and drinking root beer or something.
