    Why are you here?

Logged into this page years later to find a recent comment on old work. That was a surprise. Who else is around?

    Ink On Life's Paper

[Note: ch3 of It's Not You They Fear has been edited and updated. 'Bout darn time.]

So I was gonna write some deep post about silver linings in pain and training hard for your struggles, but I realized the struggle for today was finishing those edits. Check it out if you have the time and boredom to do it. And here is an adorable picture of Luna in case you need to smile.

    Resurgence

Looking at the timestamps, it seems it's been nearly three months since I last posted on here. Life still has water on the ground and running down the sides of the streets, but the sun is shining once again.

    Forever and A Day

Well hello everyone, it sure has been a while. While I've put out a new chapter of The Long Road Home, this place hasn't seen a lot of other attention. I've been very busy trying not to leave any free time at all in my life to think.

    Steps

Once upon a time, a man much wiser than myself told me something. He said: 'We are what we do. The only difference between a writer and myself is that the writer picked up a pen or pulled up a keyboard, and wrote something.' I suppose that makes me many things. One of the easiest for me to see is running until I became a runner.

As I'm sure many of you know, between Sage and I (Vermilion) he's the more active of the pair when it comes to actually putting stories up and such. What many of you probably do not know, is that I was indeed on track with...several stories when they hit an unexpected snag. The laptop that I had been writing and saving them on decided it was finished working after I accidentally dropped an xbox controller on it, resulting in a catastrophic failure of the hard drive. I tried for several weeks to get the data from it but was met with no success. I had several hundred pictures, notes, etc. saved on that computer during the four and a half years it served me. Most important, and what I wanted to save the most were the fics that I had been working on, which were a great method of my getting out of my head for a little bit, and putting myself in the shoes of the characters I was writing for and about. Admitedly, I lost a lot of motivation to write after that, and I suppose I never really got it back. I did some writing when I was in california for a couple months on a training detachment with my unit, and put another chapter onto Luna Nos Custodit (which ended up getting fragged by an untimely computer restart, so that sucked.) and a few chapters to a new story that I had been writing, which will remain under wraps for now. Those two are the only one's that I am currently still working on. Everything else has been dumped into a notepad doc with a title and nothing else until I stop trying to write five billion fics at the same time because I cant keep my ADD under control.

I recently came into ownership of a used, but still well working Asus gaming laptop. At first I was a little skeptical of the size, because I didn't necessarily like big laptops, however I broke it in and started playing some PC games again. My setupp left a little to be desired at the time, so I did some rearranging of gear in my room and opened up my secretary unit to function as a desk.

Now armed with a brand new (to me) computer, and a suitable workspace, I slowly felt the motivation to start writing again creeping back into me. So I logged in to FIMFIC and started this entry.

Anyway, the PX opens in 15 minutes and I need to smoke. Once I've got myself materials for munching and making physical notes, I'll be back at writing. It's my day off. Rambling.

TL;DR: laptop broke, lost all my shit, got new one, going to write more, need food and nicotine, hail hydra.
