The hell?! What could possibly be the reason for that price? Is it super limited edition or something, I wonder?
EDIT: Cursory research reveals that it's around 500$ on Ebay too. The real knife twist is that it was originally only 30$ or so back when it was released in 2010. -.-
EDIT: Some more cursory research reveals that several other plushies (ones from Strike Witches) made by the same company (Aoshima) have attained similar price tags. I guess they're collector's items or something.

I love Holo. So much so, that I just got the Spice and Wolf Complete Collection DVDs
You know you could probably get a similar one done custom for a lot less :P
Even if you splurge and pay for the best possible custom it will probably run you 300$ at most.

Pretty much a limited run thing. Japanese toys are typically very good quality. The problem is that unless the series the toys are from is very popular there will only be a few runs of the toys. Ergo high price after a year or two.

I've collected Japanese toys as well, but this is the first time I've seen plushies this recent becoming this crazily expensive. I wonder what it is about the Aoshima plushies...
