Actually, on the subject of stories in other places...

So I mentioned before that much of my writing recently had shifted to positive stories with transgender themes. (Perhaps there's something about 2020 and 2021 that really gets me to lean into writing cute fluff, because the world isn't providing a lot of that right now) I'm on a private writing discord with some folks who write similar things, and this past December we did a Secret Santa

    Stories of a Different Nature

Hi everyone! I'm not totally sure how many of my followers here are actually active, given that I've been out of the ponyfic game for... well, for years at this point.

    Leftover Books!

Bronycon was tremendously, tremendously fun - and I think I already am suffering from a bit of post-con ennui. I wish I could pack up and head back and do it all over again next weekend. There are too many folks to name, and I'm paranoid about leaving anyone out, but... Basically, it was wonderful to get to see so many friends, whether I have known them for years or got to meet them for the first

    Bronycon!

So, I'm at this thing. Already escaped from a room and everything.

If you see me, say hi! But I have no idea what I'm doing most of the con, except one thing: Friday morning I'll be at the bookstore booth in the marketplace. So stop by then if you want a copy of my book and want me to sign it too! (All three of you who want it or whatever, heh)

New Stories - Being Mean to Apple Bloom Version · 6:03pm Feb 16th, 2015

Still writing, slowly. Still doing Writeoffs. I just submitted a couple of stories to fimfiction, one very short one from last month and one from the writeoff that just finished. If you enjoy sad Apple Bloom, then boy, do I have good news for you!

Honestly, I think Apple Bloom is fighting Sweetie Belle for position of best Crusader in my head right now. It's very close - AB feels a lot easier to write, and I'm not entirely certain why. I think something about her character – she's the main one who makes mistakes and learns lessons in a lot of the Crusader episodes (particularly the early ones), and it's easy to carry that over to have her generate and resolve conflict in fic. And despite the accent and her home, she's not as closely tied to farming as her siblings are. (And one thing I love about AB is that she contrasts Applejack so much – including in not being very honest at all) Due to her cutie mark – well, the lack thereof – Bloom has a lot of potential to explore. It wouldn't be surprising for her to get her cutie mark and spend the rest of her life at Sweet Apple Acres, but it also wouldn't be surprising for her to do something entirely different.

As a general progress update, I have a Minuetteventure completely plotted but I haven't sat down to write it. And my exciting long project is kind of stalled at around 23k words. It's probably got another 10k to complete, but motivation waxes and wanes. I'm choosing to wait until it's finished to post it because that way I guarantee it's complete, and because so much of the story has undergone revision as I've rethought and expanded the plot several times. I could possibly use a new pair of eyes on what I have, to give me an idea of how it's come together so far and possibly encourage me to push onwards – if you're interested in reading about 2/3rds of a noir story, let me know, but I'm probably going to limit that to a single person and ask again when it's actually done and in real final editing.

Anyways, I'm posting this now and if you're reading it, you have me faved. So, when you see a couple of stories in your feed later today, give them a click!

Each of the CMC is useful for their own distinct reason; they're all pretty fun, though I'd probably put Apple Bloom on top of them.
