In regards to [OLD] chapters · 11:38pm Feb 4th, 2015
Hey all! It's been a while since I've posted a blog post here.
So I've seen at least one case where someone added my story to a section called "probably dead for sure", or something like that. After politely informing that person that I was not in fact dead, and showing them that the chapters probably got lost within the hidden section, I had a question of my own:
While leaving the [OLD] sections of my story on the story itself was something a lot of people enjoyed, I can't help but wonder how many other poor people are happening to not notice when I post up a new chapter? So that's where you come in.
What do you people think I should do with the [OLD] chapters, so no one else suffers this horrible fate? Should I move them to a completely different story? Should I move them to my DA page (which I'll link in another post) or should I simply delete them? Please do let me know, because while I'm not trying to please everyone, I would like to please the most people as I can.
With that out of the way, I hope you all enjoy my new chapter, muddled up as it may be!
I say make a "new" story for them.
I do like reading over the "Old Chapters" so I say you should keep them, but maybe move it to a "new" story.
Make a 'new' story.
Double check, but I think posting a old story as a new one will get you in trouble as I think it is against the rules. But whatever you do please keep them around because I'm didn't mean to finish reading the old version.
Here's an idea that some of the other authors have used. Assuming you can still move chapters, move the old chapters to the top of the list and the new chapters to the bottom, that way whenever I look at it I will see the new unread chapters without having to expand the list.
Making a "new" story with the old chapters on Fimfic is against the rules.
I vote leave the chapters up as is. Its nice having both available.
Y’know how it’s possible to have a chapter be readable before it comes out? If you can, do that with the old chapters — they won’t show up in the chapter list in any way, so you’d need to manually index them in a blog post if you want them to be accessible at all (you should link to the blog post in question from the description), but it saves people the trouble of thinking the story is dozens of chapters and over 50,000 words long when it is definitely not.
