#FebFIMFanFicLove How I Became a Brony

My brony origin story. Not something I usually mention. I first heard about the show from a Skype friend who compared a character in her fic to Pinkie Pie. Since I didn't know who Pinkie was at the time, I ignored the comparison. But I'm a very curious person, and despite telling myself that I'd never be interested in ponies even after watching the Starscream vs. Rainbow Dash episode of Death Battle, and being impressed at Wiz and Boomstick using logic to prove that Dash really could fuck Starscream up.

Eventually I finally caved to my curiosity and pulled Friendship is Magic up on Youtube, as well as The Ticket Master. I was impressed, but decided I wasn't a brony. Then I started reading some of the fics. Especially the ones I found on TVTropes. After noting that I could perfectly reproduce pony voices with my inner narrator, I returned to Youtube and watched Applebuck Season through Dragonshy. And it was as I watched Fluttershy, the sweetest, kindest pony alive despite literally being scared of her shadow, make a fully grown dragon her bitch with nothing but a tongue lashing and her famous Stare... I embraced the series and declared to the aforementioned Skype friend that I had become a brony. From there I watched all the episodes, started writing fics, and began making my theories and speculations.

This is an amazing show. I went in thinking it would suck and I ended up falling in love with it. Each and every one of those ponies is memorable and unique in both appearance and personality. I eventually went so far as to get my ponysona's, and I suppose by extension my, cutie mark tattooed onto my arm. Actual ink and needles tattoo, mind you.
