I wish to show that I am serious about writing this ambitious story, and I will see it through to the end. So I've come with a progress update.
Firstly, I have finalized all the Confidants and who is in the party. They are as follows:
Twilight Sparkle: The Fool
Facet Orichalcum: The Magician
Sunset Shimmer: The Priestess
Pinkie Pie: The Lovers
Rainbow Dash: The Chariot
Applejack: Justice
Fluttershy: The Hermit
Rarity: The Star
Secondly, you may notice that I have changed the title. That is because Sapphire Valley and I elected to connect our stories as a duology. Similar in some respects, but different in just as many. Where REM tackles the motif of dreams and overcoming the darkness of the world, Reflect tackles the motif of reflections, who you are in the dark, and overcoming ones own demons.
I have decided on the mechanics of the Mirror World and how Personas awaken as well. Like Persona 5, Reflect uses a mask motif. Unlike 5 and its use of masks to represent the spirit of rebellion, Reflect uses masks to represent the concealment of one's true self from others. The reason for this will become apparent as you read.
I have also begun compiling a soundtrack. Like with REM, most scenes will be set to music, but the music is optional, purely for immersion's sake.

This would mean so much more to me if I had any knowledge whatsoever about Persona. However, as I don't, I suppose that just means I'll be able to enjoy Persona 6 without any prior expectations. Though it'll mean any references will go so far over my head they might as well be in orbit. I can live with that. Question though, would we need to read one Persona 6 story to understand the other, what level of interconnectivity are we talking here?

One can be enjoyed fully without reading the other. Think of the choice between the two as picking between Pokemon X or Pokemon Y.
