Concepts for prompts · 5:46am Jan 17th, 2015

I ran through each prompt for the More Most Dangerous Game and thought some thinks about them. Here's what I was thinking.

-"Pinkie Pie invites a friend over to Sugarcube Corner. Little do they know that they’re in for a dark surprise." (Cupcakes)

The store is cheerful, in the midst of a seasonal party as a scream rends the air. The Mane Six are greeted by a peculiar sight: Pinkie Pie's body, knife in her back. The partygoers are trapped in a place both familiar and threatening, and they can't open any of the doors. Can they find out who did the dirty deed as they begin to be picked off, one by one?

-"A human finds a young pony abandoned in a cardboard box, and decides to raise them as their own." (My Little Dashie)

A man sits alone as the radio reports the news. A car crash on I-25. A cargo truck hit a SUV, killed a young woman and a two year old girl. His shoulders heave with great wracking sobs as he clutches a pony doll, note attached reading "Happy Birthday Emily! -Mom and Dad". As tears fall, the doll begins to move, and whispers comforts. The man bows his head, and listens.

-"An old foe is reincarnated in the body of a young pony. What will the Mane Six do when they find out?" (Past Sins)

A reincarnated Sombra is brought before the Mane Six. They are torn in what to do: Some believe that they should inform Celestia and have the reborn Sombra jailed in Tartarus before he can again endanger the world. The others argue that the new Sombra should not stand trial for the crimes of the old, and that no aspect of the previous yet exist. In the end, Twilight stands alone. The choice, as always, is hers.

-"In an Equestria devastated by an apocalyptic war, the few that remain try their best to survive or rebuild--however they can." (Fallout: Equestria)

The sun has set, it will never rise again. The world has grown cold, and nothing moves except for ash, dancing on the wind. Fluttershy moves through an empty world. She tries not to remember the old days, or look too closely at the bodies. All she knows is that maybe, just maybe, the Everfree survived. All she needs to know is that somewhere, anything else survived.

I gave these ideas consideration. I may try to finish them ere the contest ends.

I'll note that Fluttershy as lone apocalypse survivor has actually been done quite a lot. (I now wonder why.) Out of all those, though, the MLD one sounds the most interesting. :O I mean, that's a pretty original take on the idea as it's presented!

2728719 My guess is due to her innocence. Who doesn't want to see wilting flower flooters digging through the wreckage of society and dealing with survivor's guilt?

On that note, I want to see Pinkie as the lone survivor. I mean, it would be torture for her, but I want to see someone do it.

2730616 Pinkie would be a much more interesting character for that prompt. She's the most open and outgoing pony, so dealing with loss on that kind of scale would be a very intriguing thing to watch.
