This month's Writeoff was something new for me. Mini-fic writing is probably the hardest thing I've tried so far. How in the world can you fit an entire story in 400-750 words? If you manage that, how can it possibly be any good?
Combine that with a desire to try writing something a little sad and also strictly sticking to dialog, and you have my latest story to hit FimFiction: A Spoonful of Sugar.
While not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, I feel it captures a little essence of my childhood. Growing up just outside the popular circles, hoping to participate, but never on my own terms, it hits a little close to home.
Hopefully I'll get around to expanding/posting the other two entries I tossed into the ring this month, but for now, I'm going to sit back and enjoy my sad little mini-fic. Let me know what you think as well.
