A Merry Freaking Christmas · 3:27am Dec 24th, 2014
So! Another couple of months pass without word or a new chapter. I'd hoped this wouldn't become a habit for me, but this is how habits form. They sneak up on you like some kind of silent predator.
Post-writing ennui [read: laziness] settles into me after I've posted a new chapter, during which time I don't want to write. This usually lasts anywhere from a month to two months. After that time, I'll pick it up again and it'll take another month or two to hash out a new chapter, get it edited, and then post it.
These last few months, however, I have had a plethora of family and financial troubles assaulting me. It seemed there, for a while, I could have made a bowl of cereal and the action would have caused my uncle to contract cancer or some such. Don't worry, everything is fine and everyone is alive. Well, every human is alive. We did lose one of our furred friends, which is disheartening.
I'm not searching for sympathy or pity; I abhor people who do such things. You're all my fans, and I wouldn't have the view count and popularity I have without you. I feel you deserve an explanation for the exceptional lateness of this big chapter.
Good news: I've got 8000 words done, and it looks like this chapter is going to be rather large and action-packed. When it does get posted (I'm hoping after the new year), it'll be my most densely-packed chapter to date.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hearth's Warming Eve, a Happy New Year, and a good holiday season to all of you out there.
