Story was bad, needed to be fixed.
1) Combine chapters. Thank you Archy the Hobo
I am going to cut 9 chapters down to 4, by deleting chapters. Unfortunately I think this deletes comments as well - I'll save those in other blog posts.
New Chapter 1 - Old Chapters 1-3 - contains comments from old chapter 2
New Chapter 2 - Old Chapter 4
New Chapter 3 - Old Chapters 5-7 - contains comments from old chapter 6
New Chapter 4 - Old Chapters 8-9 - contains comments from old chapter 9
2) Make ending longer
Old chapters 7-9 have been edited, with new scenes added to 8 and a complete rewrite of 9. I burned myself out today, I'll get to the epilogue tomorrow ...
3) Rework Star Swirl - Discord
I don't want to completely destroy what I had before, but I've taken the complaints into consideration. I realize now that the memory spell should not have turned Discord into Star Swirl - Celestia was not always friends with him, only after she met him. As a result, in the new ending Discord remains Discord and Star Swirl is effectively dead. This makes more sense than before, to me, and concludes the storyline.
I'm sorry for giving you such a poor ending before. I honestly thought I got the themes right. Hopefully the new version is better, if you return to read it.
