    Winter storm

Any of my other southern bronies singing winter wrap up with ice in the bathtub and the oven running to try to warm the house up enough to open the door. Needless to say, looks like I get a staycation from work.

    Update Mid Crisis

It feels like every drive is Sunday at one in the morning. Kinda feels funny, eight months ago, I had only just gotten my license. Now I drive a borrowed car with a letter from work taped to my dash stating the fact I am an essential worker.

    Update (Nov 11)

Kish, it's been a long time since the last time I checked in. Haven't had much time to. But since today I don't have the response time for gaming, the mental faculties for writing... and most definitely the lung power to do anything physical... I figured I might as well catch you guys up.

In short, I'm down with the flu.

TWP Part Two; Leadership Lessons. · 2:23pm Dec 1st, 2014

(This post has bad jokes, hard lessens, and a challenge. You have been warned.)

“I laughed I cried, You moved me Bob!”

I’m not Bob, Lilly! I’m Cowgirl! And How did I move YOU!

“Drive into the river bob, Drive into the river.”

And tell me exactly what that is supposed to mean?

“I don’t know? Just saying!”

Lilly, Exactly What are you doing on this blog post? Explain to me that one?

“You said you were going to take over mine tomorrow, so I decided to take over your’s today!”

But the post will still be about you! Or did you forget?

“Oh, I didn't forget, But it still-”

*Cowgirl stuffs sock into Lilly’s mouth then places a piece of duck tape around her muzzle.*

Anyways… As many of you know I have been studying leadership for some time now. Since August 15th 2011 to be exact. My study started with a book I read. The Covenant of The Crown. This is one of the many books I can't decide whether I love it... or hate it. The author did not think through how the human body worked or anything, but it did do a very good job on different types of leadership.

After finishing it I could not stop thinking about the whole concept. Here we had this girl who had suddenly been trust into a position of leadership. This got me to thinking What if that were me? What if I suddenly needed to be a leader... could I handle it?

I then sat down and did up this chart trying to comprehend the meaning of what is a leader? Or more importantly what does it mean to be a good leader!

L: Listen to the ideas of others and learn from failures of yourself and others.
E: Execute the ideas in a way that works for all members involved.
A: Attitude is courageous is yours worth catching?
D: Delegating wisely.
E: Engage others in what you are doing. Nobody likes to be left out.
R: Respect others, If you want to be respected you have to respect those who are put under you.
S: Selflessness putting other's safety, and needs before your own.
H: Honesty
I: Information talk will all members get to know who you are working with. And stay informed about the task at hand. You can never lead if you have no idea what you are leading.
P: Patience, prayer, and perseverance, remember the tortoises is the one that won the race.

Of course my study did not end there. It has grown, developed, and morphed from being just 'Leadership' to being 'Feminine Leadership' There is a difference!

But my most recent moment of growth in this study happened while I was leading the 'Wind Project.' I love to start a new project. I love planning and directing people. I love it even better when I am not herding CATS! LOL This project I don't think I had a single 'cat' (Except for KC... but that doesn't count... (joke))

For the first time in my life I actually had a group... not just a group but a TEAM! A group of people all striving for the same goal! IT WAS AMAZING! Did I have problems... Yes... did I need to go scream because I had no idea what to do... of course... Did my mother know about the project so I could ask for her help?... I'll get back to you on that one...

Actually Mom was the only one in my family who did not know. She new like always that I was up to something but I actually prefer to go to Glitter in cases like this because she doesn't freak out over the fact that I am befriending strangers. :facehoof:

I suppose I should get to the lessons.

Well it actually had to do with the D: part of LEADERSHIP; Delegating. I have never had a TEAM so as you can guess I have not had much luck in being able to just hand out assignments and they getting done. In this project however WOW! I was blown away by how FAST things not only were able to be handed out but finished as well. I was humbled and amazed by the unity of all the team members.

I am a leader from the front. I have a LOT of trouble entering a crowd and directing it from the middle of the group. I am more of one who sets the goal then takes off. If you want to follow me, GREAT if not... that's okay too. In this project I had a leader from the inside doing the nitty gritty that I am not good at. Nobel Savage. I had a 'jump and fetch it' Someone to fetch names and handle things when either I was unavailable or had too much on my plate to handle. (Crystle Melody KC.)

I had people I could go to for advice and to remember those knitty details that I just seem to forget... (Like PROGRAMS for the Christmas play.) :twilightoops:

I think the hardest part for me was the fact that everyone else was available to chat at the times that I was going to bed. I am UP with the sun and DOWN with it too. So when it's UP I'm UP, and when it's DOWN, I'm DOWN.. but when it's only half way up...I'm neither Up nor DOWN....

Of course I had the members that Sl-ow-e-d u-s d-o-w-n..... andtheoneswhoweregoingsofastthatIhadtroubletryingtofigureoutwhattodowiththem!!!! (They come in all shapes and sizes.)

Personally my favorite response was Sketch's! BRILLIANT can we add scootaloo in a turkey costume? do you need like my address to send me the picture I"M IN She was more than in! Oh my! I finally to calm her down told her to write every idea she had on a piece of paper... then told the rest of the group to do likewise. So we could bring all the ideas to the table evenly. We did not end up using most of Sketch's Marvolous ideas. :fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry: (I am hoping she takes some of them and turns them into something visual.)

I even had an argument during this with Crystal! Believe it or not! Well not argument per-say but... My pride decided to jump into the game and when she posted around 'if anyone needs help We (She and Nobel) can help' My pride of 'I can do it ALL BY MYSELF' jumped in and I said something that I had to later apologize for in private. She was doing EXACTLY what I wanted her to do just... I handled the fact that she was helping... wrong. (Sorry again)

This whole thing was crazy! It was weird! And it was the most fun I have ever had in my life!

I think what has humbled me the most was the ones who have told me I have been an inspiration to them! And how the group now threats me like one of them. I was humbled but their cooperation, giving, and support!

I learned to sum this up 1. That things CAN be delegated and still get done. 2. Don't let my pride get in the way of the task. 3. HAVE FUN! 4. Inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes. 5. Don't be afraid to ask for help. 6. When my family used to say I was annoying with my love for planning and getting them into projects... they probably weren't kidding.

Now. In closing I am going to hand out a challenge for the new year. As I was challenged to study the word and consept LEADERSHIP. I would like to challenge all of you to take a word like Leadership and next year study it. Every month on the last Friday of the month share what you have learned. It does not have to be Leadership. It can be TEAM or SCIENCE or ART... I don't care what you choose. But it has to do with your goals for your future. My dream is to teach children and horses and by that I need to know how to lead correctly.

You have all this month to choose. If you need ideas please contact me and we can discuss this. This is just a challenge if you choose to partake. I will be doing further posts on this idea, so if you are interested keep your eyes peeled.

Once again THANK YOU to my team in this project. And Thank you Sir Calm for bringing us all together in the form of a story.

And I'll see you next time either here, there! or... IN THE AIR!

*Let's Lilly Loose*

"WAIT!!!!... Ok.... bye... *Sings*And what do you think of that!"

Well it definitely was an AMAZING experience!! Thank you for having this crazy yet fun idea! I dont know what i would have done if you didnt decide to involve the rest of us.. probably would have lost my hand by the end of that... But WHATEVER! XD

But anyways, three things..
1) Lol! That is a joke that No One will ever get until they ask why..xD
2) I understood how you felt when we had that little "argument" (it wasn't really) and you dont need to apologize for it. Because i am very competitive myself, and i guess i would of Kinda felt like you in that situation. But all is well now. I forgive you! :yay:
3) I will try to take part in this challenge of yours. I think it sounds like a fun idea! But im will take the freedom to make my topic about art or i dont know what. Lol. I gotta think about that one.

So that is all! Have yourselves a LOVELY DAY! Ta ta! :raritywink::derpytongue2:

I do remember crystals post telling the group ask her or myself for help. Honesty when she said that I was like :twilightoops::facehoof: *says
in a squeaky voice* "please dont ask me about chart positions, I just do the organization. :twilightblush: " *back to normal voice* "l know nothing about chart position :twilightblush:" sorry that I didn't bring it up when she posted it. I thought no one would ask me about it.

2626790 Fat chance! :rainbowlaugh: yep.

2626796 I know! Fat chance that once she posted it you wouldn't get asked that! I got asked that SO much! But we did get through it!

2627067 Sounds good. So what is time and what is space?

2627067 If you want to do a good job you need to narrow your study down. Like I have chosen "Feminine Leadership"

2627524 Why don't you go for a life lesson then... Like tenacity... or freedom... or... Honesty. Why don't you take one of the elements and study it and try to see if the mane six that represents it truly is that element. And why or why not.

2627534 Alright

http://singingmiownsong.blogspot.com/2014/02/intro-to-strong-woman-or-female-bully.html

This was the intro to my study. Last Friday of December (or first Monday of the year) I want you to give an intro to your study.

2627937 Open for anyone to try. So sure.
