    Snow

Why is there so damn much of it? It was 60 yesterday, it's going to be 50 tomorrow, but it's snowing like crazy to day.

Seriously, the wtf is up with St. Louis and nonsensical weather?

    Le roi est mort

Sir Christopher Lee, one of the finest actors I've ever had the privilege to watch, is dead. While the world is lessened by his loss, he truly did lead a full and rich life, far more so than most.

A grand jury handed down a verdict in the Michael Brown case (the shooting that lead to all those riots in Missouri earlier this year).

Darren Wilson was not indicted, on the grounds of no probable cause.

Whether this was the right or wrong decision, I can't say, save to note that our justice system is predicated on the idea of innocence until proven guilty. I can say that I'm glad I'm several miles away.

Eyup. Just checked in, and it appears a Little Caesar's has been set on fire. Because nothing says "peaceful protest" like arson.

Well, it doesn't say "peaceful protest", but it does convey the message of "We're seriously pissed off."
I don't condone this action, of course; it's exactly the wrong thing to do. But at the same time, it doesn't surprise me in the least.

Oh, I expected something like this. I just foolishly keep hoping that people will figure out that escalating the situation/randomly lashing out doesn't help anybody. Of course, there's also the small, cynical part of me that thinks that the most of the trouble has nothing to do with the actual protest, and is just people coming into the area and using the tension as an excuse to make trouble/engage in some looting

I just foolishly keep hoping that people will figure out that escalating the situation/randomly lashing out doesn't help anybody.

Given that this sort of behavior can follow something as trivial as a sports team victory, I had no such hopes.

I was laughing over how ridiculous this whole thing was. It's as if they didn't expect a shit-ton of protests.

Twelve shots. The prosecutor said that was the number of rounds fired.

What in the actual fuck. :duck:

I can hear police sirens outside. I live in a suburb outside of Seattle. I can only imagine how crazy things are going to be in the city tonight.

I only hope that things die down in the near future. :ajsleepy: I know the grand jury couldn't make a decision outside of the bounds of the law, but... 12 shots. That kid was shot 12 times. That sounds like intentionally lethal force, with each additional bullet fired exponentiating the fact that he was unmistakably shooting to kill. Nothing could have possessed a rational officer to fire 12 rounds into an unarmed teenager, even if the victim had a weapon.

I don't get it, man. :unsuresweetie: I don't feel like justice was served on this day.

I try to forget that people tend to riot over sports. It makes me want to bash my head into a wall.

Eyup. It does seem pretty excessive. Well, something convinced the grand jury that it wasn't. I have no idea as to what the hell that could be, but there it is. At this point, I'm just hoping nobody else gets killed over this
