The MLP community has been a great source of happiness and joy. These stories are my attempt to give something back to those who have so enriched my life.

    I'm Back

Hello everypony! I'm glad to say that, after a seven-month absence, I have finally returned. The good news is that my quest was successful: I passed the certification test (with a 94 out of 100) and was able to get a lot of things done. It's nice to be back.

    Hiatus

At the moment, I'm working on my latest story - The Choice. I've got it finished and am working on editing the last two chapters. I hope to post them both later this week, if all goes well. So don't worry: I'm very, very close to finishing that tale.

    Inspiration

Last week Themaskedferret sent me a message asking me (and others) to write a quick post about what inspired them to get into the fandom and start writing. I've finally had a little bit of spare time, so here goes!

A sequel to "Villains Wanted" has been posted!

Last year I wrote a story entitled WANTED: Villainous Villains. Apply Inside! To this day it is one of my most popular stories, but I've never written a sequel to it.

Coming Soon: The Might of a Quill

After a long absence, I've been encouraged to write a new story and I plan on doing exactly that. If all goes well I hope to have the first chapter online sometime next week, with updates posted regularly. I do apologize for my long absence and am glad to be back!

Here is a glimpse of what is coming soon to a website near you:

Coming Soon: Not One, But Two Novellas · 1:06pm Nov 18th, 2014

I see that this site has a neat blog feature. Does anyone actually read these things?

Anyway, I wanted to let everypony know that I've been working hard on two new stories. The difference is that these aren't short stories; they are my first attempt at MLP novellas. The tricky part is I'm working on two of them at the same time, and the two stories are not related in any way.

When I write a novel, the first thing I do is outline every chapter. When that process is done I have a skeleton version of the entire story. Since I'm working on two novellas at once that is proving to be a bit time-consuming, but I'm almost at the end of that process and hope to start writing soon. I'll be writing both tales at the same time, and posting each chapter as they are written.

One of these stories is entitled THE EYE OF DESTINY. Here is its summary:

Rainbow Dash interrupted. "So you're writing a story, huh? Don't tell me - let me guess. Some badpony is up to no good, and wants to get his hooves on some magical MacGuffin. After some thrilling fight scenes and a bunch of danger, we will save the day without any casualties. Oh - and I'm going to be totally awesome. Have I got it?"

The author sighed. "Are you saying you don't want to save the day?"

"No, I still want to look awesome. But mix it up a little, ok? For example, kill me off five or six times. But then bring me back, because I'm just too awesome to stay dead."

"My readers are going to lynch me," the author muttered.

"And have Carrot Top save the day. She's been kind of neglected lately. Oh - and at the end of the story, turn the villain into a pile of ashes. A very polite and reformed pile of ashes, but still, y'know, ashes. That talk."

"If you say so, Rainbow Dash. But I really don't have a good feeling about this..."

"Oh, you can trust me! It'll be twen-"

"Please, please, don't say it," the author interrupted.

As you can see, this is intended to be a lighthearted, goofy comedy. It will be fun.

The second novella is Dark, Sad, and Alternate Universe. (I've written 19 novels. All but one have been Dark, Sad, and Post-Apocalyptic.) It is entitled THE FALL OF NIGHT. Its summary is:

This is the story of a certain blue pony who has been utterly broken by tragedy. Trixie is doing her best to save the world from an invading army of darkness, but it's not going very well. The world blames her for the death of Twilight Sparkle, and wants her head. The surviving members of the Mane 6 are cold and bitter, and healing their spirits is not going to be easy. In fact, it may take a great deal more than a wounded Trixie has to give.

But the fate of everypony really does depend on her. If Trixie doesn't find a way to restore harmony to Equestria, the dead will rule the living - and the night will last forever.

Whatever your preference - comedy or tragedy - I hope to have something for you shortly. My plan is to write them both at the same time. Yes, it's a crazy plan. I've never done this before, which is why I want to try it. But it will be fun!

Wow! Both of these ideas will be interesting, and it might help you in the writing process since they are so different in genre. Just make sure not to get overwhelmed, okay? ^_^

That will be the trick! But I think it will be a fun challenge.

Thanks for the encouragement!

You must not follow a lot of other people, huh? But that's okay, you can fix that! Starting with following me! :raritywink:

But seriously, you've written 19 novels? Wow! :rainbowderp:

But seriously, you've written 19 novels? Wow!

And I see that you've written 45 stories, have 128 blog posts, and 227 followers. That's amazing! Quite an accomplishment.

I'm still trying to figure out how this all works. For the longest time I didn't have an account here, and when I found a writer I liked I downloaded their stories and then bookmarked the stories I wanted to see finished. But I'm getting there. It's fun to talk with other MLP fans; until I came here the only ones I knew were the ones I converted.

I've been writing books since 1999. You can do a lot of writing in 15 years!

2604369 Compare that with shortskirtsandexplosions, who's written around 25 times as much as me and has (including his alts) around 25 times more followers!

Compare that with shortskirtsandexplosions...

My goodness! That is insane. I recognize a number of those stories, but never thought to check the author's profile before. That level of productivity - not to mention the number of followers - is truly mind-blowing. Wow.
